Jarvis Landry Won't Discuss New Deal With Dolphins Once Season Starts

Jul 11, 2017 11:27 PM

Jarvis Landry would like to land a new contract with the Miami Dolphins, but he won't discuss one once the season kicks off.

"I want to focus," Landry said. "I believe that Miami is where I want to be. Miami is the place I call home. I want to be able to give my all mentally, physically and emotionally this season.

"Once the season starts I just want to put all that behind me and win the Super Bowl."

Landry's base salary is less than $900,000 in the final year of his rookie deal, making him one of the most underpaid players in football. He has more catches over his first three seasons (288) than any other receiver in NFL history.

Ryan Tannehill: Dolphins Offense Best I've Played On

Jul 5, 2017 9:56 AM

Ryan Tannehill believes the Miami Dolphins will feature a high-powered offense this season.

The Dolphins went 10-6 in their first season under Adam Gase.

"Honestly, I can say it's definitely the most talent we've had with the receiving corps, bringing everyone back, having a second year together in the same offense," Tannehill told The Miami Herald. "That's going to be huge for us. Adding [tight ends] Julius Thomas and Anthony Fasano, veterans who have played a lot of football, is [big]. Bringing back [running backs] Jay [Ajayi], Kenyan Drake.

"Keeping most of the offensive line together, adding a few pieces. Putting Laremy Tunsil back at his natural position. That's going to be huge for us. You start to stack all those pieces together and we have a good unit. Now it's a matter of being able to elevate our play throughout the season. Just because you have good pieces doesn't mean you're going to perform. That's what the onus was on all spring. That's what it's on throughout the summer. As we hit training camp, it's pushing each other each and every day to go out and be great. Not just be good, but really be great."
