Adam Gase Wants DeVante Parker 'To Push Through Certain Kinds Of Pain'

Aug 31, 2016 8:11 AM

DeVante Parker hurt his hamstring in practice on Monday and won't play in Thursday night's preseason game.

Parker's hamstring has been an issue this summer and a foot injury limited the 2015 first-round pick during his rookie season.

Adam Gase, who spent time coaching with the Denver Broncos, referenced Demaryius Thomas overcoming injury issues early in his career and said Parker needs to do "all the little things" needed during the week to make sure that you're able to go on Sunday.

"Sometimes it takes some guys more time to learn more than others," Gase said. "Eventually you get tired of being the guy standing on the sideline. I do think he's a little frustrated. He's been the odd man out all the time. Eventually ... he will know how to push through certain kinds of pain."

Dolphins List Jay Ajayi As Starter Over Arian Foster

Aug 8, 2016 3:50 PM

The Miami Dolphins have listed their first official depth chart and Jay Ajayi is the starting running back over Arian Foster.

Just last week, Adam Gase told the media that Foster was "going to be working with the ones the whole training camp."

How they perform in the preseason will have a greater impact than the camp depth chart.

Arian Foster 'Rolling With The Ones' In Miami

Aug 3, 2016 8:29 AM

Arian Foster has been, and could continue to be, the No. 1 running back for the Miami Dolphins, according to Adam Gase.

Jay Ajayi is currently sidelined with a bone bruise in his knee.

"(Foster) is going to be working with the ones the whole training camp," Gase said. "His resume speaks for itself. I don't think there's any question why we brought him in here. He's playing this year. Whether he's the guy that will be the first snap of the game, time will tell. He is going to be rolling with the ones."

Foster has missed 23 games over the past three seasons.
