Phillips: J.J. Watt Destined For Hall Of Fame

Dec 11, 2014 1:55 PM

Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips thinks so highly of J.J. Watt that he believes the young player is headed for the Hall of Fame. "(Watt's) going to be a bust -- not a first-round bust but a bust in the Hall of Fame," Phillips said. "The only players I've seen that can do what he can do with his intensity can be found in Canton." Watt is the rare 3-4 defensive end that can dominate rushing the passer and stopping the run. "I've seen a lot of guys, and I compare him to Howie Long) in that he has the same quickness to beat (offensive) linemen off the ball. He's a smart guy who gets it," Phillips said.

Foster Thinks Vegan Diet Has Been Overblown

Jun 25, 2014 9:27 PM

Arian Foster received a lot of attention when he revealed earlier this offseason that he switched to a vegan diet. The Texans running back doesn't understand why the admission was news. "There's nothing to talk about in the offseason, that's why. I don't know why it got so much attention. There's other vegans in the NFL," Foster said. When reporters persisted in asking Foster about his diet, he got upset. "Nobody asked me what I ate last year. Why is everyone so concerned about what I'm eating? It's really not that interesting. It's not interesting at all, actually. It's just the flavor of the week. Y'all will forget about it in a month," Foster said.

It's very important for us to be here, because we've developed such a great relationship with the people here. It's important for us to keep this thing going as long as we can." Joseph Rates Texans Higher Than Bengals

Oct 31, 2014 5:15 AM

Johnathan Joseph left the Bengals last season after five seasons and signed a five-year, $48.75 million contract that included $23.5 million in guaranteed money with the Texans. "The first thing about Houston is it's an organization run from a different perspective," Joseph said. "In Cincy, the team lives off money it earns from football. Houston's owner has other business interests and he controls the money." Joseph said that several teams were interested in his services, including the Raiders, Lions and Buccaneers, but the decision ultimately came down to Houston and Cincinnati
