Texans tight end Owen Daniels admitted on Tuesday that he is considering skipping the team's offseason program because of his desire for a new contract.
"Well, I'd be lying if I said it hadn't crossed my mind, but I think this is the best way to go," Daniels said.
Houston tendered Daniels, a third-year restricted free agent, a one-year deal worth $2.79 million. However, he wants a long-term deal.
