Robinson Fined For 'Pay Me' Shoes

Oct 31, 2014 3:42 PM

Texans cornerback Dunta Robinson has been fined $25,000 by the team for a demonstration during last Sunday's game. Robinson wore shoes with the words "Pay Me, Rick" written on them. He was upset about not receiving a long-term contract this offseason. "I got here today, and it was in my locker," Robinson told reporters, referring to the letter notifying him of the fine. "I knew it was coming. I talked to Rick [on Monday], and he said he was going to fine me, so there's nothing to be surprised about. "It was over a long time ago. I've moved on. Me and Rick don't have a problem. I'm focused on Tennessee [this Sunday]."

Texans' Robinson To GM: 'Pay Me, Rick'

Nov 4, 2014 6:45 AM

Houston cornerback Dunta Robinson still wants a new contract from the team. Robinson held out until last week, finally signing his one-year franchise tender in order to play in Week One against the Jets. He'll make close to $10 million this season, but had a message for Texans general manager Rick Smith on the field. Robinson wrote "Pay me, Rick," on his shoes, according to Richard Justice of the Houston Chronicle. After the game, the cornerback laughed off the gesture. "It's just a reminder that this is what we're here for," Robinson said. "It's to get paid."

Texans Could Run Right At Gholston

Aug 4, 2014 5:51 AM

The Jets will plug Vernon Gholston into the hole on defense left by Shaun Ellis, who has been suspended for the first game of the season. Rich Cimini of the New York Daily News, in an interview with HoustonTexans.com, believes that the team will run right at Gholston in their Week One matchup. "I don't think he's ready for full-time duty and I could see the Texans going right after him and running the ball at him because his football instincts are a little behind right now and he has trouble shedding blocks," Cimini said of Gholston. "So I could see them going right at him."

Robinson Ends Holdout, Signs Deal With Texans

Oct 9, 2014 5:24 AM

Dunta Robinson has ended his holdout, signing a one-year deal with the Texans. "I feel like being a rookie all over again," the cornerback told the Associated Press. "I walked in here and all the guys they welcomed me with open arms with a lot of high-fives and a lot of hugs. It's good to be back." Houston coach Gary Kubiak said there was no animosity even though Robinson held out for the entire training camp. "It's very positive," he said. "I'm just excited to have him back. "I'm fine with it. I understand the business and I understand what he went through. I understand all that. That's over. It's time to go play football."
