WR Davis Signs Deal To Stay With Houston

Andre Davis signed a deal to remain with the Houston Texans on Thursday just a day before he would have hit the free agent market, according to ESPN.com. He agreed to a four-year deal worth $16 million, which will pay him $8 million in guaranteed money. He is the second receiver to take himself off the market after Justin Gage re-signed with the Titans on Wednesday.

Houston's Mathis Arrested For Choking Wife

Texans' receiver and kick returner Jerome Mathis was arrested and charged with choking his pregnant wife, according to the Associated Press. Erica Smith told authorities that Mathis pushed her on a bed and started to choke her. She refused medical treatment after a 911 call but is six months pregnant.
