Arthur Blank will become owner of the Atlanta franchise of the TGL, a new golf league started in part by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

Blank, who owns the Atlanta Falcons of the NFL and Atlanta United of MLS, also owns the PGA Tour Superstore chain across the country.

TGL will be comprise professionals playing on a golf simulator along with a separate area for short-game play in Palm Beach, Florida. It begins in January.

The Atlanta Falcons have waived linebacker Mykal Walker, who started for the team last season.

Walker, 25, started 12 games for Atlanta in 2022. He made a career-high 107 tackles with four tackles for loss, his first career sack and two interceptions.

Walker thanked the Falcons in an Instagram post and said, "my journey is far from over."

This preseason, Walker had been working behind free agent signing Kaden Elliss and second-year pro Troy Andersen at inside linebacker.

The average NFL franchise has increased in value by 24 percent over the past 12 months reaching $5.14 billion.

Collectively, the NFL’s 32 teams are worth $165 billion, including team-related business and real estate held by owners.

The Dallas Cowboys rank first in the NFL and across all sports leagues globally at $9.2 billion. The Cowboys had an operating profit of $460 million in 2022.

The New York Giants and Los Angeles Rams rank second and third at $7.04 billion and $6.98 billion respectively. The New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers round out the top-5.
