Buccaneers Release Gerald McCoy

May 20, 2019 6:51 PM

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will release Gerald McCoy.

The Buccaneers elected not to pay him the $13 million he was owed for the 2019 season.

The Buccaneers may attempt to sign Ndamukong Suh as his replacement.

McCoy was the third overall pick by Tampa Bay in 2010 out of Oklahoma and is a six-time Pro Bowler.

Texans Release Ryan Griffin Following Vandalism Incident In Nashville

May 18, 2019 8:32 AM

The Houston Texans have released Ryan Griffin.

Griffin is facing charges of vandalism and public intoxication for allegedly punching out a front window in a hotel last month in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Texans also selected tight end Kahale Warring out of San Diego State in the third round.

Police say Griffin, 29, was arrested for his own safety rather than given misdemeanor citations.

Griffin had 24 receptions for 305 yards last season with Houston and has 136 career receptions and seven touchdowns in six seasons.

Seahawks Release Doug Baldwin, Kam Chancellor

May 9, 2019 6:03 PM

The Seattle Seahawks have released Doug Baldwin and Kam Chancellor after they failed their physical examinations.

Baldwin had surgery in the offseason to repair shoulder and groin injuries and he also had a knee procedure. Baldwin is widely expected to retire. Baldwin had remained silent on his future in recent weeks.

Chancellor did not play last season due to a neck injury suffered in November 2017. Chancellor remained on Seattle’s roster last season for salary purposes and was on the physically unable to perform list but was not expected to play again following the injury.
