The Kansas City Chiefs have released Eric Berry.

"I'd like to thank Eric for his contributions to our team and the Kansas City community over the last nine years," coach Andy Reid said Wednesday in a statement from the Chiefs. "Seeing his passion and watching his love for the game has been truly remarkable. He's a special person, and we wish him the best as his career moves forward."

The move comes following Kansas City's agreement with Tyrann Mathieu on a three-year, $42 million contract.

Berry was voted first-team All-Pro three times.

Berry's 2014 season was cut short by a lymphoma diagnosis, but he returned in time for the start of the next season

The Miami Dolphins have released Danny Amendola, which will create $6 million in cap space.

Amendola signed with the Dolphins last offseason, leaving the New England Patriots.

Amendola had 59 receptions for 575 yards last year, which were both team highs.

The Cleveland Browns have released leading tackler Jamie Collins.

Releasing Collins will only cost the Browns $2.5 million in cap space this season and saves them $9.25 million in cap costs in 2019 and $13.75 million in 2020.

Collins had been due to earn $10 million in salary in 2019 and $12 million in 2020.

The Baltimore Ravens have released Eric Weddle.

Weddle, however, doesn't plan to retire after turning 34 in January.

Weddle is a six-time Pro Bowler, including all three of his seasons with the Ravens.

Weddle had one year remaining on his contract at a base salary of $6.5 million. Baltimore created $7.5 million in cap space by cutting him.

The Los Angeles Rams have released Mark Barron, which is a surprise cut.

The move signals the Rams intend to be active in free agency as they were last offseason.

The Kansas City Chiefs will release Justin Houston.

The Chiefs attempted to trade Houston but were unsuccessful.

Houston recorded nine sacks last season, but the Chiefs had concerns about his cap number and his injury risk.
