Hugh Freeze has agreed to a deal to become Auburn's next head football coach, the school announced Monday.

Auburn administrators, including athletic director John Cohen, met with football staff members earlier in the day to tell them about the hiring of Freeze, who arrived on campus later Monday night.

Wisconsin has hired Luke Fickell as its next football coach, athletic director Chris McIntosh announced Sunday.

Fickell led Cincinnati to the College Football Playoff last season and had gone 57-18 in his six years there.

Stanford head coach David Shaw has resigned after 12 seasons at his alma mater.

Shaw announced his decision to step down, effective immediately, after Saturday night's 36-25 loss to BYU in Stanford's season finale.

"I prayed about it, I thought about it," Shaw said. "With every hour it seemed, it was more cemented in my head. The phrase that kept coming to me is: 'It's time.'"

Shaw, 50, said he had not considered resigning until earlier this past week and said he has no desire to coach another team at this point.

Arizona State has finalized a deal to make Oregon offensive coordinator Kenny Dillingham the school's next coach, sources told ESPN on Saturday.

Dillingham is on his way to Arizona to take the job and the hire will be announced on Monday, sources said.

Dillingham is a 2012 graduate of Arizona State and a native of Arizona. He's a former high school coach in the state and started his college career at Arizona State as an offensive assistant in 2014.

Nebraska has hired Matt Rhule as head coach.

Rhule was fired earlier this season by the Carolina Panthers. Before joining the Panthers, Rhule was head coach at Baylor.

Spencer Rattler had the best day of his unpredictable career, throwing for 438 yards and six touchdowns as South Carolina beat No. 5 Tennessee 63-38 on Saturday night, all but eliminating the Volunteers from the playoffs.

Tennessee (9-2, 6-2 Southeastern) might have also lost Heisman Trophy contender Hendon Hooker, who left the game in the fourth quarter with a leg injury, falling and fumbling without being hit.
