Sep 1, 2015 1:24 PM

Tyrod Taylor will start at quarterback for the Buffalo Bills in Week 1.

Rex Ryan made the decision to go with Taylor instead of EJ Manuel and Matt Cassel.

Taylor was a sixth round pick in 2011 out of Virginia Tech and joined the Bills in the offseason from the Baltimore Ravens.

DeMarco Murray Doesn't Expect To Rotate Series With Ryan Mathews

Aug 27, 2015 12:26 PM

DeMarco Murray doesn't expect to alternate series with Ryan Mathews in the Philadelphia Eagles' backfield.

"Murray gets all the headlines and attention, but I'm even more intrigued to see what the role is for Mathews and Sproles," NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah told us in June. "... I kind of worry about those secondary runners when you get a carry here, a carry there. But the Eagles with their tempo, (Mathews is) going to get a full series and he's going to get a chance to get into a rhythm."

Chip Kelly's uptempo offense lends itself to alternating drives to keep fresh legs on the field.

"I don't think it will be alternating series," Murray said, per Corey Seidman of CSN Philly. "But (Mathews) is a quality back, great guy, works extremely hard. I'm sure he'll get his fair share of touches. But I don't know how the rotation will be yet, we haven't touched on it."

Jamaal Charles Feels Like 'LeBron Of Football'

Aug 4, 2015 2:42 AM

Jamaal Charles feels like he receives so much attention from opposing defenses that it reminds him of watching LeBron James.

"I take it like it's a compliment,'' Charles said Saturday. "I feel like that's the only reason we get to stay in the league as long as I can. I feel like if they [can] stop me, then my time is up.

"As long as I play in this league and play on a high level, I always feel like a team is going to have to stop me. I feel like sometimes I'm the LeBron of football, especially at my position because I can do so much."

Charles was responsible for 27.8 percent of the Chiefs' yards in the 15 games he played in 2014. In contrast, James assisted or scored 40.9 percent of the points for the Cleveland Cavaliers in 69 games last season.

49ers' Defensive Players Impressed By Growth Of Kaepernick

Aug 1, 2015 1:49 PM

The San Francisco 49ers' defensive players have seen a different player at the start of training camp in Colin Kaepernick.

"I'm very optimistic about the season Colin will have this year," said Eric Reid.

"He's been throwing the ball very well through the offseason program," Reid said. "A couple balls, I was like, 'Man, that was a good throw.' He's definitely been putting in the work and it shows. I'm excited."

Antoine Bethea pointed out that Kaepernick -- who worked this offseason with former-MVP quarterback Kurt Warner -- is "not telegraphing where he's going," while Reid praised the quarterback for "making the touch throws on the deep throws, and the ball is hanging and dropping over the DBs."
