J.J. Watt: I'll Let All Of You Worry About MVP

Dec 9, 2014 10:06 AM

J.J. Watt had three more sacks on Sunday as he continues to make his case for MVP.

Watt has 82.5 total quarterback disruptions this seasons, ahead of Von Miller with 64.0 and Justin Houston with 63.0.

“Whoever you pick I’m sure will be deserving,” Watt told Peter King from Houston. “The way I look at it is, I’ll worry about what happens on the field. And I’ll let all of you worry about the MVP.”

“If all positions were created equal, J.J. Watt’s the best player in football by a mile, and it isn’t close,” said Neil Hornsby, the founder of Pro Football Focus, which judges every player on every snap.

Aaron Schatz, the president of the long-running football analytics group Football Outsiders, agreed: “Watt is by far the best player as his position compared to the average of his position.”

Chiefs Want To Increase Carries For Jamaal Charles

Dec 5, 2014 1:11 PM

The Kansas City Chiefs and offensive coordinator Doug Pederson want to get the ball in the hands of Jamaal Charles more frequently.

"We as a staff, and me as a coordinator, I have to allow him to touch the football as often as we can," Pederson said, per The Kansas City Star. "You look at the stat sheet and look at the targets and the number of touches that guys get, and then you go back and say, 'Oh, I wish I would have done this or I wish I would have done that, or more of this or less of that,' after the game, win or lose."

Charles saw just 10 handoffs during the Chiefs' loss to the Denver Broncos.
