Hilliard, McCardell Could Coach In Tampa

There's a chance that former Buccaneers wide receivers Ike Hilliard and Keenan McCardell could return to the franchise. With Tampa Bay in the market for a new receivers coach, one of the two could end up with the job. The Buccaneers are expected to have a new receivers coach in 2010 as former wideouts coach Richard Mann has been given the freedom to look elsewhere for a job.

Gaines Adams Dies At 26

Gaines Adams died Sunday morning after he was taken to a Greenwood, S.C., emergency room, the county coroner said. Greenwood County Coroner James T. Coursey told ESPN that Adams was taken to the emergency room at Self Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9 a.m. ET Sunday morning. An autopsy will be performed Sunday by the Anderson County forensic pathologist, Coursey said. Adams was the fourth overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft.

Tampa's Phillips Accused Of Choking Wife

Buccaneers safety Jermaine Phillips has been charged with trying to choke his wife during an argument. According to Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, Phillips was charged with domestic battery by strangulation. Authorities say Phillips' wife called 911 Sunday and said her husband had grabbed her around the neck.

Morris Will Return As Bucs Coach

Raheem Morris will return for a second season as coach of the Buccaneers, according to an Associated Press report on Monday. The Bucs made the announcement in a one-sentence statement from team co-chairman Joel Glazer, who said ownership is committed to a plan set in motion after the NFL?s youngest coach was hired last January.
