Luck Put Kaepernick On Harbaugh's Radar

Oct 31, 2014 7:27 PM

Colin Kaepernick attended the Manning Passing Academy before his senior season at Nevada.

Kaepernick had to apply and have Nevada coach Chris Ault submit a letter of recommendation in order to be accepted unlike those highly touted quarterbacks that are automatically invited.

According to one post-camp blog post on CBSSports.com, "Kaepernick surprised some with his velocity. ... Kaepernick is well known for his (college) production ... but is viewed by many scouts as a product of Chris Ault's 'pistol' offense."

Andrew Luck attended the camp and became friends with Kaepernick.

Jim Harbaugh was still at Stanford at the time and asked Luck if he saw any players that were impressive, who told him about Kaepernick.
