Ravens Want Suggs, Dumervil, Upshaw On Field Together

Jul 2, 2014 3:30 PM

Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees is envisioning a scenario with Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil and Courtney Upshaw all on the field together.

"He'll be in competition as an outside 'backer out there," Pees said of Upshaw. "That's where we'll start him out. But the other thing is that you can't have too many pass rushers, and we can find a way to get them all on the field now. We can scheme up some things to get all those guys on the field."

Crabtree Lost Vision Following Super Bowl Hit

Sep 10, 2014 3:11 AM

Michael Crabtree says he lost vision after being hit hard in the face near the goal line on third down in February's Super Bowl.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver was targeted on the team's last three plays of Super Bowl XLVII.

Crabtree said he took such a shot from Baltimore Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith that he temporarily couldn't see.

"When the guy hit me, he hit me all in the face," Crabtree told NFL Network. "I'm not tripping. I'm not one to whine about nothing, but he hit me all in the face and I couldn't really see after he hit me."

Elvis Dumervil Has 'Brick Wall' On Shoulder

Jun 12, 2014 12:38 AM

Introduced as the newest member of the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday, Elvis Dumervil says he'll play with a "brick wall" on his shoulder after being asked to take a pay cut by the Denver Broncos before being released after a paperwork folly.

"I think at times in life you deal with people who say you can't do this or you shouldn't do that. In this world, you have to prove a point and prove yourself. I'm all about that. Year in, year out, that's what drives me. I like to go in as a rookie every year, where you have to prove yourself. I have a chip on my shoulder, I may have a brick wall now. I'm so excited. I can't wait to get out with the guys and really compete," Dumervil said.

He will wear No. 58 with the Ravens, which he wore in college when he played for Louisville.

Call Between Harbaughs Started Quick Boldin Trade

Nov 26, 2014 12:18 AM

The Baltimore Ravens' trade of Anquan Boldin to the San Francisco 49ers came together quickly following a phone call between John Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh.

"Oh, I'm sure he probably was suspicious," John Harbaugh said Tuesday.

"It was a situation where we were really working hard to try to do something to make it work for Anquan to stay (with the Ravens)," John Harbaugh said. "And, I believe Anquan was working hard, too. But when it came down to it, the numbers didn't work work for either side.

"In the end, we decided to make a couple calls. We knew it wasn't going to work out, as far as changing the contract around. So we were going to lose him. We thought we could work it out in the best interest of both parties."
