Trial Of Accused In Taylor's Death Postponed

A Miami judge has postponed the trial of the four men who have been accused of slaying Redskins' safety Sean Taylor until August, according to Associated Press. Defense attorneys and prosecutors said Friday that they weren't prepared for the trial to begin April 7 as initially planned.

Surry County Commonwealth?s Attorney Gerald Poindexter said Monday he was working with the suspended NFL quarterback?s lawyers to determine the date. The trial originally was scheduled for April 2.

The Steelers released Cedrick Wilson on Thursday, hours after he was charged with assaulting his estranged girlfriend at a suburban restaurant, according to an Associated Press report. In a two-paragraph statement, the Steelers give no reason for why it terminated Wilson?s contract. In three seasons with the Steelers, he caught 81 passes for 1,162 yards and two touchdowns, including 18 receptions for 207 yards last year.

Wilson entered the Patron Mexican Grill in Pine Township shortly before 8 p.m. and saw Lindsey Paulat sitting at the bar, according to a criminal complaint filed by Northern Regional Police.

NFL: Bad Behavior Dropped 20 Percent

A year after new commissioner Roger Goodell instituted stricter conduct polices, bad behavior has dropped twenty percent in the NFL, according to a report in the Tennessean. "Based on what we hear from the players and our clubs, we believe the policy has had a positive impact," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said. "Everyone clearly understands what is expected and that we are held to very high standards. The positive impact is reflected in a decreasing number of incidents, which dropped 20 percent last year." "It is also reflected in many comments we have received from college football coaches and administrators that the commissioner's stand is having a positive impact on college players as well," he added.

Titans running back LenDale White has been cited with destruction of property, disobedience to a lawful order/interference and resistance, according to an Associated Press report. Police spokeswoman Sharon Hahn said Sunday that the 23-year-old Denver native was cited shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday. She didn?t have details of what led to the citation, which was first reported by KUSA-TV.

Texans receiver Jacoby Jones was arrested early on Sunday morning on suspicion of drunk driving, according to the Houston Chronicle. Jones, 23, was stopped near downtown Houston and has been freed on bail. "It was basically a DWI investigation," said Houston Police Department Sgt. John Chomiak. "There was no accident involved."

The woman who had a restraining order placed against Randy Moss in a domestic violence case had the order removed on Tuesday, according to the Boston Globe. "My client, acting solely on the advice of her former attorney, filed for the temporary restraining order against Mr. Moss. She has decided that such restraining order is unnecessary and has requested the order be dismissed," Rachelle Washington's lawyer said. "Because the injuries sustained were not the result of any malicious intent by Mr. Moss, a claim for her damages will be submitted to his insurance company."
