Larry Johnson Charged With Simple Assault
Larry Johnson has been charged with simple assault for spitting his drink in a woman?s face, according to an Associated Press report.
Kansas City police spokesman Darin Snapp said Johnson was charged Monday and turned himself in, later being released after posting a $500 bond.
Report: Rams Deal With Haslett Not In Accordance With NFL Rules
The NFL has notified the Rams that their contract with interim coach Jim Haslett has been voided, according to a published report.
The team was planning to hire Haslett as their full-time coach if he won six games this season, but CBSSportsline.com, citing league sources, reported Saturday that the NFL has informed the team that the deal is not in accordance with the ?Rooney Rule," which is aimed at getting more minorities interviewed for jobs.
Steelers' Holmes Arrested On Drug Charges
Steelers' wide receiver Santonio Holmes was arrested on charges of drug possession on Thursday.
Holmes was arrested by Pittsburgh police on Thursday afternoon after being found with a small amount of marijuana.
The details of his arrest were not immediately available.

In court papers filed in Surry County Court, Vick's attorneys are seeking to have Vick enter his plea by video teleconference.

LJ Faces Simple Assault Charge
Larry Johnson faces a December date in Kansas City Municipal Court on a charge of simple assault. The municipal violation, filed early last month, stemmed from an incident on Feb. 24, 2008, in which a 26-year-old woman accused Johnson, 28, of using his open hand to push the left side of her head, according to court and police documents obtained by The Kansas City Star.
According to the court records, the incident allegedly occurred at 2:15 a.m. at a nightclub.
A police report supporting the charge alleged that the woman and a friend were walking through the club when Johnson moved through the crowd toward them and pushed the woman, saying, ?? don?t touch me.?
The alleged victim then replied, ?I didn?t touch you,? according to the report.
?Then another friend at the club stated that was Larry Johnson, a football player for the Chiefs,? the police report stated. ?She notified the security guards at the club, and they did nothing.?
