Ravens DT Cody Has Knee Surgery
Ravens coach John Harbaugh says Baltimore rookie Terrence Cody has had surgery on his left his left knee and will be sidelined for two weeks.
The procedure, performed last week to repair a torn lateral meniscus, leaves Cody's availability for Baltimore's Sept. 12 opener in question.
Knowshon Moreno Returns To Practice
Broncos running back Knowshon Moreno returned to practice on Tuesday for the first time since hurting his right hamstring on the first day of training camp Aug. 1.
Moreno, who is No. 1 on Denver's depth chart, pronounced himself "80-some percent" healed from the injury.
He isn't expected to play in the team's preseason finale against the Vikings on Thursday.
Campbell Goes Through Drills, Appears OK
Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell participated in some light drills on Monday, an indication that his injuries aren't serious.
Campbell worked out for the first time since being carted off the field during a preseason loss to San Francisco on Saturday.
He suffered a stinger and a wrist injury against the 49ers.
Del Rio: Jones-Drew Hasn't Had Surgery
Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio says running back Maurice Jones-Drew has not had surgery, contrary to reports.
There have been rumors that Jones-Drew underwent knee surgery.
"No," Del Rio said. "No, has not happened, is not necessary. He's working, rehabbing, strengthening and gearing up for the regular season."
Malcolm Kelly Pulls Hamstring Again
Redskins wide receiver Malcolm Kelly pulled his left hamstring again Monday, a major setback in his bid to make the opening day roster.
Kelly reinjured the hamstring in his first full practice since the early days of training camp.
"I don't know the extent of it," coach Mike Shanahan said, "but I know it's not good."
He has been ruled out for Thursday's preseason finale.
Crowder Still Out With Leg Injury
Dolphins linebacker Channing Crowder missed the final game last season with a right foot injury that left him on crutches and has been sidelined since Aug. 17 because of an unspecified leg injury.
The Dolphins sent Crowder for a second medical opinion Monday, coach Tony Sparano said.
Campbell Injured Wrist Before Getting Stinger
Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell injured his wrist before leaving Saturday's preseason loss to the 49ers with a stinger.
Campbell was taken off the field in a cart after being hurt on a sack by Travis LaBoy in the second quarter.
He hurt his right wrist on the previous series in the game. He underwent an MRI on Sunday and will be evaluated again later this week.
"Usually I recover pretty fast," Campbell said. "Right now there's no timetable. The thing is just to improve and continue to keep getting better. We don't know the timetable or anything, but at the same time, I haven't really missed any time before."
Oakland coach Tom Cable said that Campbell's wrist is the more immediate concern.
Farrior Cuts Head Making Tackle
Steelers linebacker James Farrior left the team's preseason game against the Broncos on Sunday night after suffering a head laceration.
Farrior's helmet went flying when he helped stuff running back LenDale White for no gain on second-and-goal at the 2 early in the first quarter.
Michael Bush To Have Surgery On Thumb
Raiders running back Michael Bush will undergo surgery on his broken left thumb Monday and could be back in time for the season opener.
Bush broke the thumb when he was hit on the hand by a helmet on his final carry Saturday night against San Francisco.
Oakland coach Tom Cable said Sunday there was a "good chance" Bush would be ready to play Sept. 12 in Tennessee and that he would likely not need a cast on the finger.
McNabb May Not Be Ready For Opener
The Redskins don't know if quarterback Donovan McNabb will be ready to play in their season opener.
"I really don't know for sure," Shanahan said Sunday. "That's why it's day by day. We'll see how it goes."
Washington will face Dallas in Week 1 of the regular season.
McNabb hasn't practiced since spraining his left ankle in the second preseason game against Baltimore.
Shanahan said the leg is too sore for McNabb to play Thursday against the Cardinals.
