Giants Sticking With Jason Garrett As Offensive Coordinator

Sep 28, 2021 8:47 AM

The New York Giants are winless after three games but won't undergo any major shakeup or significant changes.

The Giants are sticking with Jason Garrett as offensive coordinator despite failing to top 14 points in two of their three games so far this year after finishing 31st in the NFL in total offense last season.

"In terms of who is going to be calling the plays, no, directly to the question in terms of offense, defense and kicking game, the coordinators (Garrett, defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey) will still be making the play-calling this week," coach Joe Judge said Monday.

Kenny Golladay: Outburst Directed At Jason Garrett, Not Daniel Jones

Sep 21, 2021 9:42 AM

Kenny Golladay admitted Monday his emotions got the best of him when the cameras caught him yelling on the sideline in the fourth quarter of the New York Giants' 30-29 loss to the Washington Football Team on Thursday night.

The video made it appear that Golladay was yelling at Daniel Jones. However, he said his discontent in the moment was actually directed at offensive coordinator Jason Garrett.

"Pretty much just me just talking to [Jason Garrett] a little bit," Golladay said. "That is two competitive guys right there. More so just me wanting to do anything I can. Not so much get me the ball more."

Golladay had three catches on eight targets for 38 yards in the contest. He also had a key drop. Golladay has seven catches for 102 yards in his first two games since signing with the Giants.

Daniel Jones On Frustrated Kenny Golladay: 'We'll Work Through It'

Sep 17, 2021 8:28 AM

Daniel Jones is downplaying what appeared to be a heated discussion with Kenny Golladay late in the fourth quarter of the New York Giants' 30-29 loss to the Washington Football Team on Thursday night.

Golladay, who had three catches for 38 yards on eight targets, was seen yelling in Jones' direction near the bench in the closing minutes of the game.

"He was frustrated with the situation," Jones said afterward. "I don't think it was to me or anyone in particular."

Golladay signed a massive free-agent contract that included $40 million guaranteed this offseason.

Joe Judge said he saw Jones and Golladay "hugging in the locker room" but that he didn't know anything else about the situation.

Saquon Barkley OK After Contact, Eyes Week 1

Sep 7, 2021 8:39 AM

Saquon Barkley cleared yet another hurdle when he came through his first contact at practice with the New York Giants late last week with no issues, according to sources.

If all goes well in Wednesday's padded practice, Barkley is expected to be on the field Sunday for the team's Week 1 game against the Denver Broncos.

According to reports, his workload would still be limited as the Giants continue to take a long-term approach with their star running back.

Saquon Barkley Completes First Contact Practice

Sep 3, 2021 9:03 AM

New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley took some contact seemingly without incident on Thursday for the first time since tearing the ACL in his right knee 11 months ago.

It was the latest step in Barkley's progression and a mandatory one before he gets into a game, according to Joe Judge.

"We did a normal practice safely, and just talked to the guys and [they] gave me some good shots," Barkley said afterward. "But it's [about] route running and running routes just to get me back in the flow of things, so I guess you could say yes [I took my first hit].

"But [Thursday] felt good at practice and practicing with everyone on the team. Think that was definitely needed. Just grateful to be out there and just getting ready for the season."

Barkley will have to get through another fully padded practice next week before likely getting cleared by doctors. The Giants don't practice again until Monday.
