General Manager Randy Mueller said the Dolphins are pleased with receiver Chris Chambers and want him to stay during an internet radio interview on miamidolphins.com Wednesday.
Mueller was responding to an NFL Network story Tuesday suggesting that Chambers was on the trading block.
"He is fine. We're happy to have Chris Chambers," Mueller said in the interview. "Obviously, he is a good player, and we hope that he is here a long time."

Chambers Staying In Miami For Now
Despite some minor feelers to gauge the potential value of Dolphins wide receiver Chris Chambers on the trade market, Miami has no imminent plans to deal the team's No. 1 wide receiver.
Chambers also is not in danger of being cut, which can often be the assumption when a player with a high salary cap number is put on the trade block.
So while the NFL Network reported Tuesday night that Chambers' name was popping up throughout league circles as potential trade bait, it is highly unlikely he will be wearing anything other than a Dolphins jersey on Sept. 9 when Miami opens the season.
Report: Dolphins' Chambers On The Block
Wide receiver Chris Chambers, the Dolphins' No. 1 pass-catcher, is reportedly on the trading block, a move that could signal the growing confidence in the development of first-round draft pick Ted Ginn Jr. as a wide receiver.
Although Chambers has not been prominently featured during the preseason, it is not believed to be because of any level of disappointment from the coaching staff. But the NFL Network reported that Chambers' name has been popping up in league circles, and teams are aware that he's available.
Garcia, Galloway Help Bucs Beat Miami
Jeff Garcia played three series Saturday, and he helped the Buccaneers beat the Dolphins 31-28 with a 26-yard touchdown pass to Joey Galloway on his final snap.
Bruce Gradkowski brought the Bucs from behind twice in the fourth quarter and threw touchdown passes of 6 yards to Earnest Graham and 1 yard to Paris Warren.
"I like some of the things we did offensively," said Bucs coach Jon Gruden, whose team improved to 2-1. "Defensively we have to play better."
Cameron Sending A Message To Ronnie Brown
The feeling among some Dolphins players is that several of Cam Cameron's moves impacting Ronnie Brown -- including putting him on kickoff returns and firing running backs coach Bobby Williams in the offseason -- are being done to send a message to Brown and create a greater sense of urgency in the third-year running back.
Green Named Miami's Starting QB
Trent Green was tabbed as the Miami Dolphins' starting quarterback Monday, ending a bit of training camp speculation over who would win the job.
Green beat out Cleo Lemon, said Dolphins coach Cam Cameron -- who insisted throughout camp that a real competition was taking place at quarterback and that the 37-year-old veteran wasn't being handed the starting role.
"We're at a point where we need to start putting this offense together and the number one thing our offense needs is leadership," Cameron said. "Trent brings that, but I do believe Cleo's time is coming and he's got a lot of room for growth."
Dolphins Undecided On Kick Returner
So maybe running back Ronnie Brown won't be returning kicks after all. And maybe wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. will.
Then again, it's growing difficult to decipher much of what is happening in Dolphins training camp lately.
On Saturday, during his first news conference since the exhibition game against Kansas City, coach Cam Cameron backed off initial comments made Thursday night that running backs Brown and Jesse Chatman would be the team's kick returners.
When asked after the game why he used Brown and Chatman as returners on the opening kickoff, Cameron said: ``That'll probably be our return unit. We want to focus with Ted on the punt returns because obviously that takes a lot of work.''
Cameron's decision drew immediate questions about why he would put Brown at such a risk of injury and not use Ginn, who apparently was drafted with the ninth-overall pick to return kicks.
But when the subject came up again after practice Saturday, Cameron attempted to clarify his plans. ''That statement only applied to that game,'' Cameron said.
Dolphins' Green Looks Sharp, Chiefs Look Lifeless
Those few Kansas City fans who booed Trent Green in the first quarter Thursday were probably ready to beg him to come back in the fourth.
Green looked sharp in his first appearance in Arrowhead Stadium since insisting on a trade to Miami during the offseason. The Chiefs, on the other hand, mostly looked lifeless for the second straight week while trying to find a new quarterback and limp along without holdout running back Larry Johnson.
In the final minutes, Patrick Cobbs scored a touchdown and John Beck slipped into the end zone for the 2-point conversion that led the Dolphins to an 11-10 victory and made them 2-0 in the preseason for the first time since 1982.
Dolphins' Chambers To Plead Not Guilty To DWI
Dolphins receiver Chris Chambers will plead not guilty to driving while impaired, his lawyer said Wednesday.
George Laughrun said Chambers will fight the charge stemming from his arrest July 14, when he was pulled over several miles south of downtown Charlotte.
Chambers was also charged with reckless driving and speeding. A hearing on the case scheduled for Wednesday was postponed until Sept. 26.
Green Struggles In Dolphin Debut
About the only thing new quarterback Trent Green led the Dolphins offense to Saturday night was a smattering of boos.
Green struggled in his Dolphins debut, underthrowing receivers and managing just 60 yards on 6-for-15 passing with one interception in Miami's 18-17 win over the Jaguars in the exhibition opener for both teams.
