Miami Dolphins linebacker Joey Porter pleaded no contest and paid a $1,000 fine for punching Cincinnati Bengals offensive lineman Levi Jones after a disagreement at a casino blackjack table.
Porter did not appear in Las Vegas Justice Court while his lawyer, Karen Winckler, entered the plea to a misdemeanor battery charge and paid the fine, said a court aide to Justice of the Peace Pro Tem James Gubler. Gubler accepted the plea.
Winckler did not immediately respond to messages seeking comment.

Taylor Defends Culpepper
Defensive end Jason Taylor, in an interview with ESPN 760-AM, again defended Daunte Culpepper, who is expected to be traded or released should the Green trade go through.
"He had a very bad knee injury and he's working his way back, so let's be patient and give him a chance," Taylor said on Palm Beaches GameDay with Evan Cohen. "We knew last year when he rushed back that he wasn't 100 percent healthy and the man needs time to heal. Give him a shot, and if the team decides to go in another direction, then fine."
Dolphins And Chiefs Remain Two Rounds Apart On Green Trade
A source said the Dolphins and Chiefs remain about two rounds apart on draft-pick compensation for Trent Green.
Miami Signs Cleo Lemon To One-Year Deal
The Dolphins got a healthy quarterback under contract Tuesday. Restricted free agent Cleo Lemon signed a one-year deal for $1.3 million.
Lemon is the only uninjured quarterback with playing experience signed by Miami for the 2007 season. Daunte Culpepper still is rehabbing his right knee, second-round pick John Beck doesn't have a contract offer, and Gibran Hamdan is a long shot to stick with the team.
Brown Wants To Be Used More Like Tomlinson
Cam Cameron told Ronnie Brown he's determined ''to get my full potential,'' and Brown envisions being used more like San Diego's LaDainian Tomlinson, who had 50 catches in Cameron's offense last year. (Brown had 33.)
Told to reduce his body fat percentage, Brown says his first two seasons were merely ''decent'' and has drawn motivation from Phil Simms' comment that he lacks the ''wow'' factor. ''I have a lot to prove.'' He studied tapes of Tomlinson and plans to talk to him: ``I want to achieve some of the things he has.''
Ginn To Report On June 7th
Dolphins first-round receiver/returner Ted Ginn Jr. is scheduled to report June 7, one day before the start of the next minicamp.
Ginn, a junior at Ohio State, declared for the draft early. Due to NCAA rules, Ginn isn't allowed to officially report until his class graduates June 7. Ginn is nursing a sprained foot, but Dolphins coach Cam Cameron said Friday that receivers coach Terry Robiskie has been told everything is "positive."
Daunte Gives Warning To Green
Quarterback Daunte Culpepper said Friday he has not asked the Dolphins to clarify his status despite reports that he likely will be traded or released after the team acquires Trent Green.
Meanwhile, Culpepper cautioned that ''it's not going to be a cakewalk'' for Green -- or any player -- who joins the Dolphins.
Green said this week that he wants to play for the Dolphins and believes he would be given a ''much more fair chance'' to win the starting job in Miami than in Kansas City.
Williams Loss Appears To Be Dolphins' Booker's Gain
Shortly after Lorenzo Booker learned he was drafted by the Dolphins, the Florida State running back became excited about learning nuances of the NFL game from Ricky Williams.
Instead, he'll essentially be replacing Williams.
Not only does Booker have the same locker that Williams occupied in the Dolphins' training complex, he'll also likely be Ronnie Brown's backup in Miami's backfield and fill the role many expected Williams to have before his suspension for violating the league's drug policy was extended until at least September.
Green's Agent Trying To Get Miami Trade Done
Trent Green's agent Jim Steiner said Thursday night he believes the Dolphins are willing to slightly increase the worth of their offer to Kansas City, turning the sixth-round pick on the table into a conditional pick.
''I think they'd be willing to conditionalize the sixth-round pick,'' said Steiner, who spoke to the Dolphins as recently as Thursday afternoon. ``They could make it higher based on performance [during the 2007 season].''
Dolphins Re-Sign Yeremiah Bell
Safety Yeremiah Bell signed a one-year, $1.3 million tender Monday to remain with the Dolphins.
Bell had been a restricted free agent. The former walk-on at Eastern Kentucky gave the Dolphins' defense a boost when he became a starter at midseason, and he totaled 65 tackles with a team-high 12 passes defended.
Dolphins' Cameron Not Expecting Williams To Return
If RB Ricky Williams makes a comeback, it will likely be with a new team.
Dolphins Look To Chatman And Booker
The Dolphins seem to believe that Jesse Chatman and Lorenzo Booker can manage backup duties behind Ronnie Brown.
Ricky Tested Positive For Marijuana In April
