Tyreek Hill Received Death Threats After Patrick Mahomes Comments

Jun 24, 2022 10:31 AM

Tyreek Hill said on the latest episode of his podcast that he received death threats on social media after he said he thought Tua Tagovailoa was a more accurate passer than Patrick Mahomes.

"On every social media account I own, I got death threats on," Hill said.

Hill, who was traded by the Kansas City Chiefs to the Miami Dolphins this offseason, said on the first episode of his podcast that Mahomes had "the strongest arm, but as far as accuracy-wise, I'm going with Tua all day."

He also said that Mahomes might struggle without him and that he was underused last season, despite leading the team with a career-high 111 catches.

"I just feel like a lot of people overreacted for no reason. They really didn't see what I said. A lot of people are just acting off emotion," Hill said.

Arrowhead Stadium To Get $50M In Improvements For World Cup

Jun 21, 2022 8:45 AM

Arrowhead Stadium is one of 11 NFL stadiums selected to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The selection will lead to significant improvements to the stadium, which the Kansas City Chiefs have called home since 1972. The upgrades are expected to come from state funds and private fundraising.

"Only actual cost right now is $50M of improvements to Arrowhead Stadium," Kansas City mayor Quiton Lucas said of the costs to help host the World Cup. "Look for an ask to the state on that in addition to private fundraising to fund that step. That is unless the future of the stadiums chat progresses further."

Arrowhead Stadium received $13 million in upgrades during the 2021 offseason.

Patrick Mahomes Surprised By Tyreek Hill's Critical Comments

Jun 17, 2022 8:51 AM

Patrick Mahomes was surprised by the comments made by Tyreek Hill on a recent podcast that were critical of him and the Kansas City Chiefs.

"I'm surprised a little just because I feel like we love Tyreek here," Mahomes said. "We've always loved him. We still love him. I saw him out at Formula One in Miami. I'm sure it had something to do with trying to get his podcast some stuff and get it rolling.

"I still love Tyreek. He's a one-of-a-kind player. In coach [Andy] Reid's offense it takes the whole team. This offense was rolling before I got here. This offense was rolling when I was a young Cowboys fan watching the Eagles [coached by Reid] beat up on the Cowboys. It's an offense that's more than one player, and that includes myself."

Hill, who averaged 86 catches for 1,214 yards and 11 touchdowns in four seasons with Mahomes and the Chiefs, was traded in March to the Miami Dolphins.

Hill suggested recently on his "It Needed To Be Said" podcast that the Chiefs and Mahomes might struggle without him and that he was underused last season in Kansas City.

Eric Bieniemy On HC Job: 'I've Just Got To Go Get It'

Jun 3, 2022 8:41 AM

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy acknowledged his disappointment over failing to get a head-coaching job despite multiple interviews in recent seasons.

"In reality it's tough," he said. "But I don't let that keep me from doing what I do. I'm still alive, I'm breathing and I have an opportunity to work for a championship team. That's the beauty of it.

"I don't want any pity. This is who I am. I'm going to keep pushing, keep knocking because when it's all said and done with, I know who I am and I am comfortable with the person I'm striving to be."

The last two offensive coordinators under Andy Reid, Doug Pederson and Matt Nagy, have become head coaches.

"I've just got to go get it," Bieniemy said when asked what he needs to do to land a head-coaching position. "I'm not seeking any comfort. I haven't gotten it for whatever reason. It [doesn't] matter. I'm going to keep knocking on that door and I'm going to keep working my ass off to make sure that it happens. My job this year is to make sure we take care of business that needs to be taken care of today to help us achieve the goal down the road. And then it's time for me when it's presented to just go and get the job.

"You can always be better. I'm always going to take a look at myself first. I always make sure that I'm checking everything and checking every box. ... Personally I have to make sure that I'm always evolving because if you're not evolving you become like the dinosaurs and you're extinct."
