The Denver Broncos have traded Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans in exchange for a fourth-round draft pick.

The teams will also swap seventh-round picks.

John Elway said "three or four teams" had expressed interest in Thomas.

"We were not hell bent on trading Demaryius,'' Elway said. "If the value was there, we felt the value was there ... we got the value we thought was fair and that was the most important thing."

Houston will face the Broncos in Denver on Sunday.

Deshaun Watson made a trip to the medical tent near the end of regulation against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night.

Watson went to the tent after taking a hit while throwing what wound up as an interception in Houston's eventual 19-16 overtime victory.

The Houston Texans quarterback tore his ACL in practice last season, but says he'll continue to do whatever is necessary to win while on the field.

"I just do what's best for the team," Watson said. "I know sometimes what's best for the team is protecting myself. When we're down there at the goal line and I'm trying to get in the end zone, that's my mentality. Regardless of what I gotta do, if it's three dudes like it was tonight multiple times, I'm gonna try to fight my ass off to get in the end zone. That's my mentality and whatever it takes. I'm built to take those hits."

When the Houston Texans drafted Deshaun Watson in the first round last year, he hoped to emulate Dak Prescott's immediate impact with the Dallas Cowboys.

The Texans and Cowboys play in Week 5.

"It's cool," Watson said. "Dak is a friend of mine. We're boys. We talk whenever we see each other. We want the best for each other and he's a guy that I can watch and try to improve my game because we have similar things we do.

"We both can run, throw from the pocket and do some good things, have great leadership of the team. He's a guy that, of course he's one of the quarterbacks I look at as my time as I’m growing in this league."
