Warrick Signs With Seattle

Nov 27, 2014 2:18 PM

Wasting little time after his release by the Cincinnati Bengals one day earlier, wide receiver Peter Warrick on Wednesday afternoon signed a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks, despite avid interest from other teams. The basic contract is worth $1.4 million, which includes a $500,000 signing bonus and a base salary of $900,000. But the five-year veteran can earn an additional $880,000 -- the difference between his deal with the Seahawks and the $2.28 million base salary that he was scheduled to make in Cincinnati -- through incentives. Warrick will earn $220,000 with 30 receptions, then an additional $220,000 each for 40, 50 and 60 catches. It is also believed that Warrick will return punts for the Seahawks, who have been seeking to add another veteran wideout.

Bengals Add LB Navies And S Ohalete

Oct 1, 2014 10:24 AM

The Cincinnati Begals added two veterans to their lineup on Tuesday, bringing on linebacker Hannibal Navies and safety Ifeanyi Ohalete. "I've played in this defense before and I feel like I fit into this scheme a lot better than I did in Green Bay," said Navies. "I'm playing closer to the line and it's doing a lot of different things that allow me to get to the ball." Ohalete was released from the Cardinals only two days ago. "I don't really care and you can ask them in Arizona," said Ohalete about his release. "The way I look at it, me and Griffith were going at it for the No. 1 and, I don't want to say a whole lot, but that's their boy. That's all I've got to say about that one. I'm happy to be here."

Bengals Cut Peter Warrick

Oct 1, 2014 10:22 AM

Wide receiver Peter Warrick, the fourth player selected in the 2000 draft, was apprised Tuesday morning by the Cincinnati Bengals that he will be released later in the day as the club reduces its roster to the mandatory 65-player limit. The release of Warrick, who appeared in only four games in 2004 because of leg and shin injuries, was not altogether surprising. The five-year veteran missed much of camp as he rehabilitated from his injuries and appeared in just one of Cincinnati's three preseason contests. At various times in camp, coach Marvin Lewis hinted broadly that he felt Warrick might not have been as diligent as necessary in his rehabilitation. Lewis noted to ESPN.com in a training camp visit that the Bengals staff, at that point, was preparing as though Warrick might not be available. Certainly there were less than subtle hints that Warrick would not be a part of the team's plans for 2005, particularly given the Bengals' new-found depth at wide receiver.

Bengals Sign First-Round Pick David Pollack

Dec 14, 2014 4:47 AM

The Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday morning reached agreement with first-round draft choice David Pollack, the former University of Georgia defensive end who was projected as the starting strongside linebacker before camp, but who has now been dropped to the bottom of the depth chart. Pollack will sign a five-year contract with a base value of $10 million and a maximum worth of $13 million if he reaches escalators. The guaranteed portion of the contract is worth $7.65 million. The deal ends a 19-day camp holdout for Pollack, the 17th overall prospect selected, during which he missed 24 practice sessions. It has been 55 days since Pollack was last on the field with the Bengals in an organized workout. "We're excited to have this deal concluded," said Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis. "We're excited to get started with David, for his and our future."

Bengals OT Kieft Out For Season

Apr 22, 2014 6:32 AM

The Cincinnati Bengals lost Adam Kieft for the entire 2005 season after the offensive tackle tore his ACL and MCL in his left knee during a mock game on Saturday. "Fortunately, though, it's nothing major that won't prevent him from playing again," agent Dave Butz said. "The Bengals plan to keep him around so he can keep learning and treat it like a redshirt season."
