Bengals Add LB Navies And S Ohalete

Oct 1, 2014 10:24 AM

The Cincinnati Begals added two veterans to their lineup on Tuesday, bringing on linebacker Hannibal Navies and safety Ifeanyi Ohalete. "I've played in this defense before and I feel like I fit into this scheme a lot better than I did in Green Bay," said Navies. "I'm playing closer to the line and it's doing a lot of different things that allow me to get to the ball." Ohalete was released from the Cardinals only two days ago. "I don't really care and you can ask them in Arizona," said Ohalete about his release. "The way I look at it, me and Griffith were going at it for the No. 1 and, I don't want to say a whole lot, but that's their boy. That's all I've got to say about that one. I'm happy to be here."

I felt good throughout this camp, catching the ball. Get a little more comfortable in there and trust the guys in front of me.

Pentagon Reviewing Army's Investigation On Pat Tillman's Death

Sep 17, 2014 10:57 PM

The Pentagon's inspector general is reviewing the Army's probe into the friendly fire death of former professional football player Pat Tillman, a spokesman said. Tillman's parents welcomed the decision. "The other investigations were frauds," Tillman's father, Patrick Tillman, told the San Francisco Chronicle. "People above should have been punished," added Mary Tillman, referring to her son's commanding officers. In response to an inquiry from the newspaper, the Pentagon confirmed that the Army had requested the investigation be reviewed. Pentagon inspector general Gary Comerford did not provide further detail, but said elements of the military frequently seek such reviews. Tillman, who played for the Arizona Cardinals, left football after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, to join the Army with his brother.

Running back Troy Hambrick was one of nine players released by the Cardinals on Monday. Hambrick, acquired in a trade with the Oakland Raiders a year ago, had not practiced this year because of a lingering foot injury that sidelined him late last season. Hambrick was acquired after Marcell Shipp was lost for the 2004 season with a severe leg injury. Shipp has returned and played well in last week's preseason victory over Kansas City.

Cardinals Rolle Ends Holdout

The Arizona Cardinals agreed to a six-year deal with their first round draft selection Antrel Rolle on Tuesday, ending a nine-day holdout. "You've got to be patient in those aspects of the game," coach Dennis Green said, explaining why the missed time didn't bother him. "It can't. I mean, we're just happy that everybody's reached agreement. I think he'll be pleased with his contract, and as long as it's a fair deal, then I think we can live with it."
