Warner To Start For Arizona

Jul 18, 2014 4:56 PM

Kurt Warner has been selected by Dennis Green to be the Cardinals' starting quarter back. Warner was signed this offseason after playing one year with the New York Giants. ``I think the reason to do it now is that I feel he is the right guy for us, the right guy to lead our team,'' Green said. ``I think across-the-board leadership is going to be crucial for us.'' Green said he spoke with Warner, McCown and second-year quarterback John Navarre on Wednesday morning. McCown, entering his fourth NFL season, will be the backup, with Navarre at No. 3. ``In the National Football League you need more than one quarterback,'' Green said. ``We feel confident that Josh and John can play if called upon. We are very confident that this will work out.''

The Tillman Family Upset With The Government's Handling Of Pat's Death

Jul 18, 2014 4:49 PM

The family of former NFL player Pat Tillman says the Army disrespected his memory by lying in its investigation of his death in Afghanistan last year. In interviews with The Washington Post, the Army Ranger's mother and father said they believe the military and the government created a heroic tale about how their son died to foster a patriotic response across the country. "Pat had high ideals about the country; that's why he did what he did," Mary Tillman told the Post. "The military let him down. The administration let him down. It was a sign of disrespect. The fact that he was the ultimate team player and he watched his own men kill him is absolutely heartbreaking and tragic. The fact that they lied about it afterward is disgusting."
