Redskins Bench McNabb Late In Loss
The Redskins benched quarterback Donovan McNabb late in their loss to the Lions on Sunday afternoon.
McNabb was benched for Washington's final two possessions.
Washington coach Mike Shanahan said Rex Grossman was more comfortable with the team's two-minute offense.
"I thought that was the best scenario for us to win," Shanahan said.
Grossman fumbled on his first play, Lions rookie Ndamukong Suh scooped up the football and returned it 17 yards for a touchdown.
McNabb was 17-for-30 with 210 yards, a touchdown and an interception before he was benched.
Haynesworth Out To Prove He's 'Not A Bust'
Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth is out to prove that he's "not a bust."
Haynesworth, whose stated goal is to become the greatest defensive lineman in NFL history, held his first midweek question-and-answer session this season on Thursday.
"I'm not good enough to play the 3-4," he said.
"Now that we've changed some of the things that I do, it's helped a lot," Haynesworth added. "I don't have to think as much on the field -- I can just go out and play."
DeAngelo Hall's Jersey Headed To HOF
Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall is sending his game jersey to the Hall of Fame after intercepting Bears quarterback Jay Cutler four times on Sunday.
Hall is the 19th player to intercept four passes in a game and the first to do it since Deltha O'Neal with the Broncos in 2001.
He tweeted that he is "definitely humbled and honored" by the Hall of Fame's request.
Hall Ties NFL Record With Four Interceptions
Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall tied an NFL record with four interceptions against the Bears on Sunday.
Hall ran one of the interceptions back 92 yards for a touchdown.
He became just the third player since 1970 to intercept four passes in a game.
Hall Gets Into Heated Argument With Haslett
Cornerback DeAngelo Hall and defensive coordinator Jim Haslett got into a contentious exchange Tuesday over pass coverage instructions, a development Coach Mike Shanahan followed by meeting privately with Hall and singling Hall out at a team meeting Wednesday morning, according to three Redskins employees familiar with the events.
Hall and Haslett have a good relationship and there should be no lingering animosity as a result, the employees said.
On Wednesday morning, Shanahan singled out Hall at a team meeting at Redskins Park, citing a need for better communication among players and coaches, the three employees said.
Fisher: Redskins Didn't Want To Deal Haynesworth
Titans coach Jeff Fisher says the Redskins had no interest in trading disgruntled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth ahead of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline.
"I think our defensive line is playing well," Fisher said. "Clearly Albert's situation has settled down there in Washington. He is under contract and there was no interest in them as far as moving him is concerned."
Fisher didn't deny that the Titans had interest in re-acquiring Haynesworth, who made a name for himself in Tennessee.
Redskins Not Planning To Trade Haynesworth
Redskins coach Mike Shanahan says the team has no plans to trade defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth.
Haynesworth was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Colts and has played in just three of six games this season.
Tuesday marks the NFL's trade deadline and Shanahan said there's "a pretty good chance" he'll remain with the team.
Cooley Suffers Concussion In Loss
Redskins tight end Chris Cooley left Sunday's loss to the Colts with a concussion.
Cooley, who had five catches for 37 yards, suffered the injury in the second half.
"I just know it was a concussion, and he could not go back in. I knew just looking at him -- you could tell that there was something wrong," Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said.
"I really don't know when it was. I just looked at him on the sideline and could tell that there was something wrong."
Colts Will Be Without Brown, Gonzalez
The Colts will be without running back Donald Brown and wide receiver Anthony Gonzalez on Sunday night against the Redskins.
Brown's hamstring has kept him out the past two games, while Gonzalez hasn't played since Week 1 because of an ankle injury.
