Kirk Cousins Wants To Be Associated With Winning

Dec 27, 2017 11:01 AM

Kirk Cousins wants Washington to be a team known for winning without drama.

"I want this brand, this organization, to be associated with winning and when people around the league and our fans that support this league think about this organization, I want them to think of winners," Cousins said.

He was asked about the possibility of finishing 8-8.

Washington could use the franchise tag on Cousins again this offseason.

Cousins could conceivably end up with the Steelers if Ben Roethlisberger retires while the Giants, Vikings, Cardinals, Broncos, Jaguars, Bills, Jets and Dolphins are also potential destinations.

Cousins was previously linked to the 49ers but they are set at quarterback following their trade for Jimmy Garoppolo.

Infographic: Five Teams Rank In Top-10 In Offense, Defense DVOA

Dec 13, 2017 12:29 PM

The NFL has five teams ranking in the top-10 in DVOA on both Offense and Defense after Week 14. In an indication of how much turnover there's been in parts of the NFL, none of those five teams (Rams, Eagles, Vikings, Saints and Chargers) made the playoffs in 2016.

The Chiefs, Cowboys, Steelers, Falcons and Patriots also rank in the top-10 on offense, while the Jaguars, Broncos, Panthers, Ravens and Cardinals rank in the top-10 on defense.

The Seahawks, who have consistently been one of the NFL's top teams in DVOA during the Russell Wilson era, are just outside the top-10 in both categories.

Clinton Portis, Santana Moss Admit To Drinking Before Games

Dec 6, 2017 8:38 AM

Clinton Portis and Santana Moss have admitted to drinking before games while with the Washington Redskins.

"Prior to the game, on our way, we would take a little shot," Portis told NBC4 in D.C. of himself, Moss and the late Sean Taylor. "Not like going out and getting sloppy wasted. Just adrenaline. You know, you take a shot and you were done with it. Me, Santana and Sean, we did this for a year and a half before anybody knew. We never told anybody. It was just, hey, here's a little sip, bam, that was it."

The players preferred Hennessy. The tradition was born following a claim from Portis that he had one of his best games with the Denver Broncos when he played with a hangover.

"They give you shots [of medication], they give you all these pain meds, they give you all this [stuff]," Portis said. "Me, I didn't take shots. You ask anybody. We needed to get an IV one time; it took me three hours to get an IV bag, because I hate needles. I don't take meds. I don't take shots. That just wasn't me. So in pain or anything else, what did I do? You know what, I've got to play. Get my mind right, take my little sip, and I’m out of here."
