DeMarco Murray Thought He'd Be Traded Back To Cowboys

Oct 16, 2016 11:09 AM

DeMarco Murray was "95 percent sure" he was set to be traded back to the Dallas Cowboys by the Philadelphia Eagles before he was eventually moved to the Tennessee Titans.

"It was like 95 percent sure I was going to come back there," Murray told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram this week. "I have a lot of respect for those guys —€" the Jones family, Will [McClay], Coach [Jason] Garrett obviously and [Tony] Romo and Wit [Jason Witten], all those guys. I still consider them a great franchise, and they're great friends of mine.

"I was very close to going back there. There were some things that fell through and just didn't happen. I think everything happens for a reason. I'm here [in Tennessee], and I'm supposed to be here. They've got a pretty good young back over there as well."

The Eagles ultimately preferred trading Murray outside of the division.

Murray led the NFL with 1,845 yards and 13 TDs for the Cowboys in 2014 and has rebounded this season after a frustrating 2015 with the Eagles.

The Cowboys drafted Ezekiel Elliott after the trade for Murray fell through.

The Dolphins have announced that the game will be played as scheduled at 1 p.m. ET.

NFL Builds Contingency Plan For Games At Miami, Carolina

Oct 7, 2016 2:05 PM

The NFL is planning for the possibility that this week's games at Miami and Carolina will not be played as scheduled due to Hurricane Matthew.

Roger Goodell met with league officials Thursday to formulate contingency plans for the Dolphins and Panthers if each team is unable to play home games because of the weather.

"We are in close contact with local and state authorities about the hurricane. As always, our overriding concern is for public safety and not doing anything that will divert important resources away from communities that may be in distress," NFL spokeswoman Natalie Ravitz outlined in a statement.

"Consistent with that, we conducting contingency planning for Sunday's Tennessee at Miami game as well as Monday's Tampa Bay at Carolina game."

Hurricane Matthew Could Move Titans-Dolphins To Nashville

Oct 5, 2016 1:22 PM

While nothing has been decided, there has been some discussion as to whether Hurricane Matthew will force Sunday's Titans-Dolphins game to be played elsewhere.

Mike Mularkey said one of the options is to play the game in Nashville.

"We're watching the weather with the hurricane that's going on down there," Mularkey said on his radio show on 104.5 The Zone. "There may be some weather issues. There's a very slight chance that game could be moved up here. There's been some discussion because of it."

Typically, the NFL finds a neutral site rather than just giving the visitors another home game.
