Marcus Mariota Willing To Hand Ball Off 40 Times If Titans Win

Jun 29, 2016 3:27 PM

Marcus Mariota is willing to hand the ball off as many times as the Tennessee Titans wish if it means the team has a better chance to win.

The Titans traded for DeMarco Murray and drafted 2015 Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry.

"I told Coach Mike (Mularkey) that I'll hand the ball off 40 times a game if we win games," Mariota said. "That's what's important to me, to giving us an opportunity to win. Having those two workhorses back there should help us out."

DeMarco Murray Excited To Run Downhill With Titans

Jun 24, 2016 5:14 PM

DeMarco Murray believes he'll fare better with the Tennessee Titans than he did with the Philadelphia Eagles because of how they'll use him.

Murray told Jim Rome that Tennessee is asking him take the handoff and run straight ahead, which is what he does best.

"It's strictly downhill and that's what I've been accustomed to my entire life. Nothing against last year or what happened, it just didn't work out, but I'm very excited about this upcoming season and looking forward to it," Murray said.

Murray was a bad fit in Chip Kelly's offense, but he's only 28 years old.

"It's hard to look back, but it was a great season two years ago and it definitely was a tough one last year," Murray said. "But I think from both seasons, I took some positives things from it and learned and appreciated the game more and appreciated the time you have to play the sport. Obviously it was tough last year, and I'm just looking for a huge back bounce year this year."
