Pro Bowl running back Brian Westbrook set Eagles' records for catches in a season and total yards from scrimmage in the first half of Sunday's game against Buffalo.
Westbrook's third reception of the game gave him 89 this season. Irving Fryar had 88 catches in 1996. Westbrook set the record with a 30-yard catch from Donovan McNabb early in the second quarter.
The crowd gave him a standing ovation when the record was announced.
Westbrook gained 10 yards on his first carry of the game to set the franchise record for yards from scrimmage. Wilbert Montgomery had 2,006 total yards in 1979. Westbrook entered the game needing 2 yards to set the record.

Eagles Give Long-Snapper Dorenbos Extension
Long snapper Jon Dorenbos signed a five-year contract extension with the Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.
Dorenbos would have otherwise become an unrestricted free agent after the season.
"Jon has been a very good long snapper for us over the last year and a half," Eagles' General Manager Tom Heckert said. "Good, consistent long snappers are hard to find, and we wanted to shore up that position for the next several years. He has worked very well with (kicker) David Akers and (holder) Sav Rocca, and we're happy to have him back."
The 27-year-old Dorenbos was signed late last season after longtime long snapper Mike Bartrum was injured. He's played 22 games with the Eagles including playoffs.
Kearse?s Return To Eagles Appears Unlikely
In a couple of weeks Eagles' defensive end Jevon Kearse suspects he will be looking for a job.
The writing was on the wall when Juqua Thomas took over the majority of his snaps and in the ninth game, his starting job.
Kearse has since been a footnote, managing just one sack in extremely limited time over the past nine games.
?I?ve seen it, but I don?t let it get to me,? Kearse said. ?I just want to take something positive from this season and that is to get healthy. I want to use this time that I haven?t been playing or practicing and let my knee get right and see what the future holds.?
Kearse has made plenty of money, having pulled in $5.2 million in base pay just this year from the record eight-year $66 million pact he signed in March of 2004 with the Eagles.
Eagles, McNabb Hurt Saints' Playoff Chances
Running, throwing, or throwing on the run, Donovan McNabb has still got it.
McNabb passed for 263 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Philadelphia Eagles to a 38-23 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.
In losing the Saints (7-8) would be eliminated from playoff contention if the Minnesota Vikings defeated the Washington Redskins later Sunday night.
McNabb no longer showed any effects of his rehabilitation from knee surgery over the summer or an ankle sprain in midseason.
His 40-yard scramble on the third play led to a bizarre touchdown after his fumble was recovered in the end zone by Kevin Curtis. McNabb also used his scrambling ability to neutralize the Saints' pass rush.
Saints' quarterback Drew Brees threw for 289 yards and a touchdown but lost his best receiver when Marques Colston left the game in the first half with a chest contusion.
Spikes' Season Ends With Torn Rotator Cuff
Takeo Spikes needs surgery on a torn rotator cuff, and the Philadelphia Eagles said Wednesday they will place the veteran linebacker on injured reserve.
Spikes, injured in Sunday's 10-6 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, will have surgery on Friday and miss the last two games of the season. Noted surgeon Dr. James Andrews of Birmingham, Ala., will perform the operation.
The injury ends a solid first season with the Eagles for Spikes, acquired in a three-player deal from Buffalo in March. Predictably, he is not happy about being placed on IR.
"It was frustrating," he said. "It's still frustrating up until this point, and I can only imagine it's going to get worse."
Spikes said the injury occurred in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game while he was making a tackle.
"I just got caught and tried to make a tackle and reached my arm out," he said. "I think the angle of how my arm got caught; it was the right angle, the right degree and it just did it."
Eagles' Spikes Played With Torn Rotator Cuff
Philadelphia Eagles' linebacker Takeo Spikes suffered a torn rotator cuff in Philadelphia's 10-6 win over Dallas.
Coach Andy Reid said he was not sure when Spikes sustained the injury but that he played much of the game hurt.
"We'll just see how he does, if we manage it or not," Reid said. "We'll see how he's able to handle that."
Spikes was able to continue playing Sunday, but two Eagles who were forced from the game might be able to come back for next week's visit to New Orleans.
Tight end Matt Schobel, who suffered a concussion on a high hit by Ken Hamlin, and guard Shawn Andrews could both be back for the Saints' game.
Cowboys' Williams Suspended 1 Game For Tackle On McNabb
Cowboys' safety Roy Williams was suspended without pay for one game Monday by the NFL after his third illegal "horse collar" tackle of the season.
Williams, whose use of the tactic led to the league passing a rule making it a 15-yard penalty, did it against Eagles' QB Donovan McNabb in Sunday's loss. He will miss Saturday night's game at Carolina, which will cost him $35,000, one week's salary.
McNabb Denies FOX Report
Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb denied telling FOX sideline reporter Pam Oliver "point-blank" that "my knee is not an issue" and "the next place I go I will win."
Oliver spoke with McNabb Saturday night and prefaced her comments during yesterday's 10-6 upset of the NFC East Champion Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium by saying the impression she received from the embattled nine-year veteran was that he is disappointed by what he feels is the organization's attempt to distance itself from him, while lending too much credibility to public criticism.
"I am denying I said it. Make sure you get it right," McNabb said after helping the Eagles (6-8) snap a three-game losing streak and keep the team's slim playoff hopes alive.
"If I'm here, or wherever it might me, I'm going to give all that I have and I did that today. I'm going to continue to do that. You hear things and you get tired of answering questions, but I stand up here like a professional and I do it."
Team president Joe Banner recently told WIP 610 AM that, "I can't envision a situation in which (McNabb) is not our quarterback next year. My expectation -- and I can't even picture a different scenario -- is that he'll be our quarterback next year."
Runyan Told Westbrook To Take A Knee
With 2 minutes, 19 seconds left and the Philadelphia Eagles leading the Dallas Cowboys by 10-6, the eventual final score, the ball was snapped at the Dallas 25-yard line, handed to Westbrook who went off right tackle and broke into the secondary.
He was free. He was clear. He was going to score the touchdown that put the Eagles up 11 points with about 2:10 remaining.
And then he stopped on the 1-yard line.
It was a selfless act with a strategic purpose. Dallas was out of timeouts. After the 2-minute warning, all the Eagles would have to do was kneel three times, and the game would be theirs.
What we found out later was that he had a little help in the decision-making from right tackle Jon Runyan.
"I just want to help this team win - and I got a stern talking-to by Jon Runyan right before that play," Westbrook said.
"He said, 'Listen, if you get down to the 1, take a knee.' I was like, 'Ahhh . . . ' He said, 'Take a knee, Westbrook, take a knee.' "
Giants Closer To Clinching After Downing Eagles
Eli Manning threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to Plaxico Burress; Lawrence Tynes made three short field goals; and the New York Giants moved closer toward clinching a playoff spot with a 16-13 victory over Philadelphia on Sunday.
David Akers hit the right upright on a 57-yard field goal attempt in the final seconds after McNabb drove the Eagles 50 yards in the final minute.
The Giants (9-4) are almost locked into the No. 5 seed in the NFC. Meanwhile, the defending division champion Eagles (5-8) are all but eliminated from contention following their third straight loss.
Banner: Reid, McNabb Will Be Back In '08
Eagles' President Joe Banner expects both coach Andy Reid and QB Donovan McNabb to be back next season.
