The Miami Dolphins were one of the NFL's most competitive teams last season to not make the playoffs.
“We need some more game-changing plays. We were in 10 one possession games last year," Philbin said.
The Dolphins' wins over the Browns and Jets, along with losses to the Saints, Patriots, Bills and Jets were the only games to not come down to the final possession.
"That was tied for the most in the NFL. We were 6-4 in those [games], but it is tough to [have a] 9-1 [record] in those games," Philbin added.
"We’ve got to have a couple more plays that turn the tide faster from a defensive perspective. We’ve also got to score more points from an offense standpoint," Philbin continued. "That’s one of the things we’re looking for from the linebackers, game-changing plays.”
