Rams Trade Tavon Austin To Cowboys

Apr 29, 2018 1:37 PM

The Los Angeles Rams have traded Tavon Austin and one of their two second round picks to the Dallas Cowboys.

Austin was the eighth overall pick in the 2013 draft but had just 13 catches for 47 yards and no touchdowns in 2017. Austin made a bigger impact in the running game, with 59 carries for 270 yards and a touchdown.

On Friday, Jerry Jones hinted at adding another receiver after selecting Michael Gallup in the third round.

Todd Gurley Willing To Wait His Turn To Get Paid

Apr 17, 2018 11:10 AM

The Los Angeles Rams still haven't worked out a new contract with Aaron Donald, but they don't have to worry about Todd Gurley complicating things.

"Obviously, we know Aaron Donald is the guy to get paid," Gurley told SiriusXM NFL Radio. "That's the last thing we want to worry about is trying to get ours done when we need our best player to get paid."

Gurley is eligible for a new contract and the Rams have cap space.

"That's not even really the focus right now," the running back said. "Once you win that Super Bowl, they don't have a choice but to pay you whether it's the Rams or any other team. Once we try to put that together and do that, everything will take care of itself. Just focus on what's next."

Rams Wanted To Trade For Brandin Cooks Last Offseason

Apr 6, 2018 10:12 AM

Les Snead is seeking extensions for Brandin Cooks and Aaron Donald.

"None of it affects Aaron Donald," Snead said when asked whether the Rams' aggressive offseason prevented them from signing Donald long term. "He's one of 53, and as I've said plenty of times before, we've got that budgeted. We didn't do all of this and forget about him."

The Rams also wanted to trade for Cooks last year but they didn't possess a first round pick to send to the Saints.

"New England had a first-round pick," Snead lamented. "We didn't."

Cooks will replace Sammy Watkins as the Rams' vertical threat.

Tom Brady Wasn't Against Brandin Cooks Trade

Apr 5, 2018 11:07 AM

Tom Brady had no problem with the New England Patriots trading Brandin Cooks, who led the team in snaps, targets, receptions, yards, yards per catch and touchdowns last season.

According to a source, the Patriots didn't see Cooks as a true No. 1 receiver. He was dealt to the Los Angeles Rams earlier this week in a deal that netted them a first-round pick.

Brady and Cooks didn't often connect down field, but he did help spread the field. Reports indicate that Cooks wasn't as precise with his routes as the Patriots desired.

Rams Intend To Sign Brandin Cooks To Extension Before Season

Apr 4, 2018 2:54 PM

The Los Angeles Rams intend to sign Brandin Cooks to a contract extension before the start of the 2018 season.

Cooks will earn $8.5 million in 2018, which is the final season of his rookie contract.

Los Angeles' four big offseason acquisitions -- Cooks, Marcus Peters, Aqib Talib, Ndamukong Suh -- add roughly $35.2 million to its payroll.

The Rams would presumably like to save franchise tag for Aaron Donald.

Jared Goff, Brandin Cooks Have Been Working Out Together

Apr 4, 2018 2:54 PM

The Los Angeles Rams acquired Brandin Cooks in a trade with the New England Patriots on Tuesday night.

Cooks and Jared Goff had already been throwing together this offseason, according to a report. The players are represented by the same agency.

The Rams had been trying to acquire Cooks for more than a year. They attempted to get him from the New Orleans Saints last year before the Patriots completed a deal.

Patriots Trade Brandin Cooks To Rams

Apr 3, 2018 5:59 PM

The New England Patriots have agreed to trade Brandin Cooks to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Patriots will receive a first round pick and a sixth round pick while sending out Cooks and a fourth round pick.

New England acquired Cooks from the Saints last offseason for their 2017 first rounder.

The Patriots now own a pair of first round picks and a pair of second round picks, which could help them move up in the draft.

The Rams also had interest in trading for Odell Beckham Jr., but held talks with the Patriots on this deal for over a month.

The Patriots also lost Danny Amendola this offseason.
