Texans Release Moses

Labeled as one of the most popular players in the team?s three seasons, J.J. Moses was released from the Houston Texans roster yesterday. Moses, 25, was expected to be a long shot during training camp this summer with the Texans placing a high priority on upgrading return talent during the offseason. "As happens in this league, you have to make tough decisions that you feel are in the best interest of the team," coach Dom Capers said.

Texans Extend Aaron Glenn's Contract

The Houston Texans have extended the contract of cornerback Aaron Glenn, the former Texas A&M star taken from the New York Jets in the spring expansion draft. Glenn, in his ninth NFL season, made the Pro Bowl in 1997 and 1998 with New York. He leads the Texans with two interceptions and five passes defensed this year. Glenn was in the final year of a contract he had signed with the Jets which carried over to the Texans when he was selected in the expansion draft.

Raiders Improve Linebacker Corps With Foreman Signing

The Oakland Raiders have signed former Houston Texans linebacker Jay Foreman to a free-agent contract. Foreman had 79 tackles last season despite missing five games with a sprained left ankle. The Raiders were looking to improve their linebacking corps after trading Napoleon Harris to Minnesota in a deal for Randy Moss in March. Foreman came to Houston in a trade with Buffalo in 2002 and started for three seasons. He made a career-high 141 tackles in 2002 and had 135 the next season.
