The 2014 NFL schedule will begin with the Green Bay Packers playing at the Seattle Seahawks in a Thursday night game in Week 1.

The Sunday night game in Week 1 will feature the Indianapolis Colts at the Denver Broncos.

The Seahawks will play at the San Francisco 49ers in the Week 13/Thanksgiving night game. The two teams meet again in Week 15 on Dec. 14.

Eric Weems renegotiated his contract by accepting a pay cut from the Chicago Bears.

Weems agreed to reduce his base salary from $1 million to the minimum for a veteran with six years of experience ($730,000).

Weems plays wide receiver and special teams for the Bears.

The Chicago Bears hosted Josh Freeman for a visit on Monday.

Freeman was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and then had one start with the Minnesota Vikings. Freeman finished the season third on the Vikings' depth chart.

Freeman had a 77.8 quarterback rating in 61 career appearances.

The Bears signed Jay Cutler to a long-term deal immediately after the season.
