Oct 9, 2014 6:04 PM

Offensive lineman Seth McKinney was placed on injured reserve Tuesday by the Miami Dolphins, who also waived quarterback Brock Berlin and 13 others in their first round of roster cuts. McKinney underwent surgery earlier this month to repair a neck disc and was hopeful of returning by the midpoint of the season. He started 29 games at center over the past two seasons for the Dolphins, and was expected to move to guard this year.

Culpepper's Miami Debut Was Brief

Oct 30, 2014 6:57 PM

Daunte Culpepper's teammates slapped him on the back as he came out of the game -- the only blows the Dolphins' new quarterback would absorb in his brief Miami debut. Culpepper settled for one 2-yard completion, while the Jacksonville Jaguars completed four touchdown passes of 50 yards or more to beat Miami 31-26 in the exhibition opener for both teams Saturday night.

Culpepper Will Play In Exhibition Opener

Oct 9, 2014 6:01 PM

According to Dolphins coach Nick Saban, quarterback Daunte Culpepper will play in the Miami Dolphins' exhibition opener Saturday, less than 10 months after a serious knee injury ended his 2005 season. When the Dolphins acquired Culpepper in March from the Minnesota Vikings, there were concerns he might not be healthy for the start of the regular season. But he has participated in every training camp practice and received medical clearance to play Saturday against Jacksonville, Saban said. "He has done everything in practice that he needs to do," Saban said. "And he wants to play."

DT Wright Asks Dolphins To Release Him

Oct 9, 2014 6:02 PM

Second-year defensive tackle Manny Wright, the subject of ridicule last summer when cameras captured him crying on the field after being chastised by Miami Dolphins coach Nick Saban, has asked to be released, citing an ongoing bout with depression and his desire for a fresh start with a new team. Wright told the Palm Beach Post that, while he appreciated the Dolphins' concern for him, he felt that it would be better if he resumed his career elsewhere. "I just want to move on and I want [the Dolphins] to move on," Wright said. "I wish Coach Saban the best, but I wish he would do me this favor and let me go."

Dolphins Sign Rookie DB Allen To Six-Year Contract

Sep 6, 2014 8:35 PM

Defensive back Jason Allen signed a six-year contract with the Dolphins on Tuesday, ending a 10-day contract impasse between the team and its first-round pick. Allen, who was selected 16th overall, and the Dolphins agreed late Monday to the deal that reportedly includes up to $9 million in guaranteed money. He was on the field with the team Tuesday morning for the first of the day's two scheduled workouts. "It's been a big relief for to be back here, come back home so to speak," Allen said after the practice.
