More than $81,000 in cash belonging to Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was seized by police, who say the money sparked a weekend melee and a triple shooting at a strip club.
Jones was showering more than 40 strippers onstage early Monday with cash "intended as a visual effect," according to a search warrant. But a scuffle broke out when the Houston promoter who hired the strippers told them to pick up the money.
The promoter, identified as Chris Mitchell, owner of "Harlem Knights," and a male associate took a plastic trash bag containing Jones' money and walked out the front door, the warrant says. Police recovered the money and two watches inside a safe at Mitchell's hotel room Monday.

Pacman Says He Only Witnessed Shooting
Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones witnessed -- but wasn't involved -- in a shooting at a Las Vegas strip club that injured three, his lawyer said.
Jones, who has faced charges in other nightclub arrests in Tennessee, was only a witness to the triple shooting early Feb. 19 that left two critically wounded, attorney Worrick Robinson said.
Robinson said Jones was in Las Vegas to attend the NBA All Star game over the weekend and was invited to the Minxx Gentleman's Club, where the shooting occurred in the parking lot as Jones was leaving.
Titans Finally Hire Reinfeldt As GM
The Tennessee Titans finally replaced their general manager Monday by hiring Mike Reinfeldt, Seattle's vice president of football operations, as the successor to Floyd Reese.
Reinfeldt replaces Reese, who resigned Jan. 5 a month before his contract expired.
The Titans interviewed seven candidates before paring the list to three finalists, and Reinfeldt interviewed with owner Bud Adams on Feb. 2 in Houston. Negotiations on a contract with Reinfeldt started Feb. 5, and the deal was completed Monday to bring him back to the franchise where he played eight of his nine NFL seasons as a safety.
Reinfeldt Deal With Titans Near
Negotiations between the Tennessee Titans? chief operating officer Steve Underwood and Mike Reinfeldt continued last week progressing toward getting Reinfeldt on board as the team?s new general manager.
There do not appear to be any major hurdles preventing contract from being completed. However, despite the progress toward a deal, there were still a few details late last week remaining to be ironed out before Reinfeldt takes the position and heads to Nashville.
Reinfeldt And Titans In Contract Phase
The Titans are working on a contract for Mike Reinfeldt in hopes he will be their general manager, an NFL source told The Tennessean on Monday night.
Reinfeldt did not return a phone message Monday.
Titans chief operating officer Steve Underwood and Coach Jeff Fisher could not be reached for comment.
Charges Against Pacman Jones Dismissed
A misdemeanor assault charge against Titans cornerback Pacman Jones was dismissed in general sessions court today after the alleged victim of a nightclub spitting incident and Jones both testified at a hearing.
Judge John Aaron Holt said the assistant district attorney, Wesley King, failed to meet the state?s burden in proving Jones spit on Krystal Webb at Club Mystic in October.
