Ike Taylor Unhappy About Taking $4.25M Pay Cut With Steelers

Sep 22, 2014 7:04 PM

Ike Taylor agreed to a $4.25 million pay cut to help the Pittsburgh Steelers create room under the salary cap, which he wasn't pleased with.

Taylor was scheduled to make $7 million in 2014 and will instead make $2.75 million.

"I'm pissed off about it, still am pissed off about it and I'm going to be pissed off until the end of the season about it," Taylor said of taking the pay cut. "Did it hurt me? Hell yeah. Does it still hurt? Yeah, it hurts, but hopefully I can go in and bounce back this year, do what I need to do on the field and we will see what happens after."

Ryan Shazier Reminding Steelers Of Polamalu

Aug 10, 2014 8:19 AM

Ryan Shazier is showing some similarities to a young Troy Polamalu with his ability to line up all over the field.

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Shazier out of Ohio State with the 15th overall pick.

“You never know with coach (Dick) LeBeau, he can do anything,” Shazier said. “Maybe one play I might be on Antonio Brown. The next play I might be on Le'Veon. The next rep I might be on Heath (Miller). Whatever he wants me to do, whatever he wants the defense to do, we'll go in there and do.”

Jermichael Finley has met with the New England Patriots and is now drawing interest from the Pittsburgh Steelers and Oakland Raiders.

Finley has consistently received interest from teams, but it is unclear yet if he will be fully cleared by doctors as he recovers from a surgically repaired neck.

The Green Bay Packers still envision Finley remaining with their club if he's cleared.
