Bryce Treggs of the Philadelphia Eagles has been fined $25,000 by the NFL for his high hit on Damarious Randall. 

Randall took a shot to the head as Treggs went high with a block during a three-yard LeGarrette Blount run in the first quarter. Randall suffered a concussion on the play and let Treggs know via Twitter that he thought the receiver's hit was dirty.

The Packers submitted videos of both hits to the NFL for review.

"If I turned them into the league, I don't think they're legal hits," coach Mike McCarthy said.

Ryan Mathews was medically cleared from his neck injury suffered last season and immediately released by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mathews suffered a herniated disk in his neck in Week 16 last season.

"We want to thank Ryan for his contributions to the Philadelphia Eagles over the past two seasons," the team said in a statement. "We spoke today and had a productive conversation about his future and the direction of our team going forward.

"First and foremost, we are glad that Ryan is healthy and has been cleared to return to football activities but given the current state of our running back position, we feel like it is best for both sides to go in a different direction. We wish him all the best as he continues his career."

The long-expected move gives the team $4 million in cap relief.

The Buffalo Bills acquired Jordan Matthews and a third rounder in 2018 from the Philadelphia Eagles for E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second rounder.

"These aren't easy decisions," Bills general manager Brandon Beane told reporters Friday. "I laid both trades out for [owner] Terry Pegula and [coach] Sean McDermott last night. This was absolutely a we decision."

The Bills also traded Sammy Watkins to the Rams on Friday.
