May 27, 2022 8:48 AM

Colin Kaepernick's workout with the Las Vegas Raiders went well, but no signing was imminent as of late Thursday night, according to sources.

The Raiders considered Kaepernick's workout a "positive."

Kaepernick, 34, hasn't played in the NFL since 2016, the year he began protesting racial inequality during the national anthem.

Judge Denies NFL's Motion To Dismiss Jon Gruden's Lawsuit

May 26, 2022 9:23 AM

A Nevada judge has ruled in favor of Jon Gruden on two motions, opening the possibility of a jury trial on his "tortious interference" claim that the NFL selectively leaked Gruden's emails to force his removal as Las Vegas Raiders coach on Oct. 11.

Judge Nancy L. Allf denied the NFL's motion to compel arbitration as well as the league's motion to dismiss the case outright. The suit will now go to trial unless a settlement is reached.

The NFL said in a statement given to multiple media outlets that it would appeal.

"We believe Coach Gruden's claims should have been compelled to arbitration, and we will file an appeal of the Court's determination. The Court's denial of our motion to dismiss is not a determination on the merits of Coach Gruden's lawsuit, which, as we have said from the outset, lacks a basis in law and fact and proceeds from a false premise -- neither the NFL nor the Commissioner leaked Coach Gruden's offensive emails."

Hearing On Jon Gruden's Lawsuit Against NFL Set For May 25

May 13, 2022 8:44 AM

The hearing on whether Jon Gruden's lawsuit against the NFL and Roger Goodell will be done through arbitration or heard at trial here is set for May 25, court records show.

Gruden, who filed suit in the Eighth Judicial District Court in Clark County, Nevada, on Nov. 12, had resigned as coach of the Las Vegas Raiders on Oct. 11 in the wake of his email scandal that included racist, anti-gay and misogynistic language.

The NFL on Jan. 19 filed the motion to dismiss, as well as to compel arbitration against Gruden's lawsuits in which he is seeking "the recovery of money in excess of $15,000.00" in each of the seven causes of action.

The New England Patriots have agreed to trade Jarrett Stidham to the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders and Patriots will swap late round picks as part of the trade.

Stidham was once considered a top candidate to replace Tom Brady, but he will now compete against Nick Mullens and Garrett Gilbert to become Derek Carr's backup.

Stidham has appeared in eight games over his three NFL seasons, all as a reserve. He has completed 48-of-124 passes for 270 yards, with two touchdowns and four interceptions.

Dan Ventrelle Alleges Raiders Fired Him For Raising Workplace Concerns

May 8, 2022 7:38 AM

Dan Ventrelle alleges he was fired as team president of the Las Vegas Raiders in retaliation for bringing concerns by multiple employees about hostile workplace conditions within the organization to the NFL.

"I take that responsibility very seriously, which is why multiple written complaints from employees that Mark [Davis] created a hostile work environment and engaged in other potential misconduct caused me grave concern," Ventrelle said in a statement to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. "When Mark was confronted about these issues he was dismissive and did not demonstrate the warranted level of concern.

"Soon thereafter, I was fired in retaliation for raising these concerns. I firmly stand by my decision to elevate these issues to protect the organization and its female employees."

The Raiders did not say why Ventrelle was let go when they announced his departure earlier Friday. They had no comment on Ventrelle's statement.

Raiders Abruptly Fire Team President Dan Ventrelle

May 6, 2022 3:47 PM

The Las Vegas Raiders abruptly parted ways with team president Dan Ventrelle on Friday.

"Dan Ventrelle is no longer with the Raiders organization," Mark Davis' statement said. "We will have no further comment at this time."

Neither Davis nor Ventrelle responded to messages to ESPN.

Ventrelle was named the team's full-time president following the 2021 season after taking over on an interim basis when Marc Badain resigned last July. Ventrelle previously served as the team's executive vice president and general counsel and had been with the team for 18 years.

Jeremy Aguero on Thursday resigned as the Raiders' chief operations and analytics officer after just seven months, he told the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
