Jim Kelly doesn't understand why the Jets brought in Tim Tebow, but the Bills legend is glad they did. Kelly, who starred in Buffalo from 1986 to 1996, said he's wishing for "so much turmoil in training camp" that all of a sudden New York's locker room "is coming apart." "They open with the Buffalo Bills first game of the season in the Meadowlands (MetLife Stadium), so this could be very exciting," Kelly said on the NFL Network.

Tim Tebow wants to see Mark Sanchez do well, even though his teammate will have to struggle in order for the former Bronco to start for the Jets. "We have a great relationship, on and off the field," Tebow said. "It's really very easy to say I am rooting for him. I will not root against him. I wish him nothing but the best. Now, that doesn't mean I have to try any less, but I really think he's done a great job. They've been in the AFC Championship Game twice he's been there. He's a good quarterback and he'll continue to work hard and be the best he can." Tebow wants to become a starting quarterback again, but he said he believes he has to get better at "everything" about playing quarterback in the NFL. "I think understanding offense very well, that'll be a key. And just continuing to work on fundamentals," Tebow said. "My biggest weakness has probably been fundamentals. The offense we ran at Florida, I had great fundamentals for that, with my feet. Now, being under center, play-action, seven-step drops, being in the pocket, it's different. The great quarterbacks aren't necessarily super-athletic, but they have great rhythm and timing because of their feet. ... Sometimes I want to go so fast, so having rhythm and timing is something I need to work on every day."

As Plaxico Burress continues to look for a job, he took a few shots at Mark Sanchez and the Jets. Burress appeared on ESPN's "First Take" this week and was asked if he believes Sanchez is the quarterback to lead the Jets to a Super Bowl. "They just paid him, so I think they believe he is," Burress said, referring to Sanchez's contract extension in March. The wide receiver was then pressed whether he believes Sanchez is good enough to get the Jets to the Super Bowl. "I think the defense will," he said, taking a shot at Sanchez in the process. "I think they definitely have a Super Bowl defense."

The Giants and Jets are seeking an injuction that would prevent the Triple Five Group from rehabilitating the American Dream retail and entertainment venue at the Meadowlands Sports Complex, according to a report Friday on NorthJersey.com.

D'Brickashaw Ferguson told New York radio station WFAN on Thursday that he originally was surprised the Jets traded for Tim Tebow in March but has since embraced the former Broncos quarterback, according to an ESPN.com report.

Plaxico Burress said again Thursday that he would like to sign with the Panthers, but according to a published report the pairing is highly unlikely to happen. An unnamed team official told the Charlotte Observer that the Panthers aren't interested in signing the former Jets, Giants and Steelers receiver.

Tim Tebow was selected the winner of the 2012 Good Guy Award by the Pro Football Writers of America, according to an ESPN.com report on Tuesday. The Good Guy Award is given to a NFL player for his qualities and professional style in helping pro football writers do their jobs.

The Jets don't appear interested in bringing back Braylon Edwards for another tour of duty. The New York Post reports that the Jets have ruled out bringing back Edwards. They wanted to see how their wide receiver group looked in organized team activities and minicamp before closing the door on Edwards.

Tim Tebow appeared Sunday morning at a church-sponsored Father's Day program at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego. The 24-year-old quarterback spoke at length about his football career and his Christian faith. "What's so frustrating is, you have in today's society so many famous athletes," Tebow said. "If we would come together and be great role models, it would be amazing to see how the next generation turns out."

Jets wide receiver Santonio Holmes is excited about the team's new offense under Tony Sparano. Sparano is expected to lead a ground-and-pound attack, but the team's receivers are still excited about the change in philosophy. "It allows us to have a little bit more fun," Holmes said. "And to know when you mess up, it's on us or the quarterback, because of a certain sight or certain be-where-you-are-supposed-to-be-at type deal." He added: "It gives [Mark Sanchez] options now. He doesn't have to stare down one receiver to get him the ball. He can throw the ball wherever he wants to, based on the coverage."
