Giants Planning To Move Saquon Barkley All Over The Field

Jun 13, 2022 9:08 AM

The New York Giants plan to use Saquon Barkley all over the place as they employ a new offense in 2022.

The running back has lined up in multiple spots during offseason workouts under new head coach Brian Daboll. He's been seen at running back, slot receiver, wide receiver and motion receiver.

"I think it’s helpful, not only for myself, but opening up other things for the offense," Barkley said. "I haven't really moved [around] like this since college. I kind of went back and watched a little bit of my college stuff to see stuff that I was able to do there."

Saquon Barkley 'Starting To Get That Swagger Back'

Jun 9, 2022 8:39 AM

Saquon Barkley admitted for the first time after Wednesday's minicamp practice with the New York Giants that his confidence took a hit in recent years.

The running back didn't fully trust his right knee, after he tore his ACL and meniscus early in the 2020 season, and it contributed to his struggles last year.

Barkley believes things are finally starting to look up after three injury-filled seasons.

"Coming into this [minicamp], focus on my body, work on my body. Doing all the little things necessary to keep my body healthy," Barkley said. "When you have that, when you can trust your body, your confidence just grows. I would say the difference [from college to now] was I was a way more confident player in college and early in my career than I was prior to last year.

"Now I'm starting to get that swagger back."
