The Patriots have agreed to trade quarterback Matt Cassel to the Chiefs.
Cassel will join former New England linebacker Mike Vrabel in Kansas City, along with general manager Scott Pioli, who joined the Chiefs in January after spending almost a decade with the Patriots.
Cassel is actually part of the Vrabel trade that was agreed upon Friday. New England has received Kansas City's second round pick in the deal.
New England designated Cassel as their franchise player earlier this month, which guaranteed him $14.65 million next season.

Report: Brady Marries Supermodel Gisele Bundchen

Brady Isn't Concerned About Knee's Future
Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has heard quite a few incorrect reports about his injured knee, but he has no concerns about it moving forward.
"I'm not worried about, I don't think anybody is ... when you have infections, they say 'five years later, something could happen.' There is nothing I know of. I'm not being treated for anything," Brady said. "I'm going through as if this was our offseason conditioning program. I'm lifting and running, and focusing on strength, and working on the game film, and those types of things. It's exciting to be back doing things that I like and enjoy."
Will Belichick Go With Cassel If Brady Struggles?
There could be a quarterback controversy brewing in New England, especially if Tom Brady looks a step low after reconstructive knee surgery.
"If we know anything about [coach Bill] Belichick, we know he won't be shy," said Bill Coan, Cassel's high school coach.
At 26, Cassel is five years younger, and a noticeably better mover already. He even recorded back-to-back 400 yard games, something Brady has yet to do.
"The first few weeks, it looked as if they had a very limited playbook with him ? stay in the pocket, a lot of short, safe passes," Coan said. "Later on, they let him go a little more, and you saw the results."
Wilfork Waiting On Extension From Patriots
New England nose tackle Vince Wilfolk is waiting to hear from the team regarding a contract extension.
Wilfork is entering the final year of the six-year deal he signed as a rookie in 2004.
"Last year at this same time - that was the last time I heard from them," said Wilfork on Tuesday.
It could be that the Patriots have been more focused on the status of quarterback Matt Cassel.
"The ball is not in my court right now," said Wilfork. "Nothing has happened. No progress has been made.
"I thought maybe there would be some sort of move forward, but everything is at a standstill. I'm sure they'll do whatever they have to do. I have that last year, and I'm preparing to play and play well. It's not going to change me. But they know the longer it takes the more it costs."
Sources: Cassel Accepts Franchise Tag
Matt Cassel has reportedly accepted New England's non-exclusive franchise tender, guaranteeing the quarterback at least $14.65 million next season.
The next step is for the Patriots to send the quarterback a contract. Cassel will not be a free agent come Feb. 27, and will not be permitted to shop himself to other teams.
The Patriots could still trade Cassel.
