Rodgers: NFC Pro Bowlers 'Embarrassed Themselves'
Aaron Rodgers wasn't happy with the effort put forth by some of the NFC Pro Bowlers in Sunday's exhibition game.
"I'll be honest with you," Rodgers told ESPN 540 in Milwaukee. "I was a little bit disappointed. I felt like some of the guys on the NFC side embarrassed themselves."
The AFC routed the NFC, 59-41, in a game that drew boos at Aloha Stadium for its lack of early intensity.
"I was just surprised that some of the guys either didn't want to play or when they were in there didn't put any effort into it," Rodgers said.
McCarthy: New CBA Detrimental To Offseason Player Development
Mike McCarthy believes the NFL's new CBA will transform the ability for teams to develop their personnel during the offseaosn.
“The new CBA has taken the offseason program out and broken it down from 15 weeks to 9 weeks with the first 3 weeks of that we have no interaction at all from player to coach," said McCarthy. "It’s strictly training and conditioning. It’s really put a lot of limits on the off-season program and frankly it’s a detriment to the development of younger players in this league in my opinion.”
Capers In Contact With McKenzie About Oakland Vacancy
Dom Capers has spoken with Reggie McKenzie about Oakland's head coaching position, according to a source.
Capers has twice been a head coach, both times of expansion clubs.
Capers has most recently served as defensive coordinator of the Packers.

The four-hour interview was held in Green Bay on Jan. 14 after the Packers finished practice for their playoff game against the Giants, the sources said.

With Joe Philbin moving on to become the head coach of the Dolphins, the Packers are in need of a new offensive coordinator.
Green Bay quarterbacks coach Tom Clements is likely to replace Philbin, according to a source.
Packers head coach Mike McCarthy didn't deny that the hire most likely would come from within, but he would not commit to anything right now.
"Your first intent is to look within," McCarthy said. "That's where you start. But I don't want to talk about that now. This is Joe's moment. He deserves all the attention.
"You don't replace people like Joe. I'm going to miss him personally a whole lot, forget as a professional. He's someone I enjoy being around. He's a great guy. This is a very good opportunity for him."
Hiring Philbin Doesn't Mean Dolphins Will Land Matt Flynn
The Dolphins looked like a potential suitor for free-agent quarterback Matt Flynn even before they hired former Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin as their head coach.
Speculation that Flynn will land in Miami has increased since the hiring of Philbin, but the Dolphins didn't hire Philbin "with the assumption" that they would also add Flynn.

A month of emotion for Packers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin took another turn Friday when he landed the Dolphins' head coaching job.
The deal was sealed less than two weeks after Philbin's 21-year-old son drowned in an Wisconsin river. The Dolphins confirmed the hiring in a news release and plan a news conference Saturday.
Packers Want Long-Term Deal With Finley
The Packers would prefer to sign tight end Jermichael Finley to a long-term deal to placing their franchise tag on him.
Finley is set to become a free agent after posting 55 receptions and career highs in both receiving yards (767) and touchdowns (eight) this season.
"We've been speaking, and they've made it clear they would like him to be back there, and Jermichael's made it clear he would like to be back there," agent Blake Baratz said.
"Now that the season's over, there's a little more time to focus on the particulars."
