Leon Hall will miss the remainder of the 2013 season for the Cincinnati Bengals with a torn Achilles in his right foot.

Bengals Lead NFL In Two-Tight End Formation Snaps

Oct 26, 2014 7:01 AM

The Cincinnati Bengals have played two-tight end formations on 43.32 percent of their 254 offensive snaps, which leads the NFL.

Tyler Eifert was a first round pick by the Bengals even though they already had Jermaine Gresham at the position.

"Whether you have two tight ends in the game at a time, or three possibly it creates problems for defenses — that personnel group — because they want to leave their base defense on the field, so you get him matched up with a linebacker, most likely," Jay Gruden said after selecting Eifert in the first round.

"I had no idea they were leaning toward taking me," said Eifert last month. "During the pre-draft process, I wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing that no one was interviewing me. I supposed they had seen enough during the NFL Combines."
