Lawson Decides To Stay With Bengals
Manny Lawson has decided to remain with the Bengals.
Lawson started 16 games for Cincinnati last season, his first with the Bengals. He had 78 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
He spent his first five seasons in the NFL with San Francisco, which made him a first-round pick in 2006.
Jamaal Anderson Joining Bengals
Jamaal Anderson has decided to join the Bengals.
Anderson, drafted No. 8 overall by the Falcons in the 2007 NFL draft, has 129 tackles and 7.5 sacks over his five-year career.
"I'm excited to say I'm starting a new chapter in my career with the Cincinnati Bengals! Shout out to the #WhoDeyNation," Anderson tweeted Friday.
Pacman Jones Returns To Bengals
The Bengals have agreed to terms on a deal with cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, according to a source.
Jones made seven starts and played in eight games last season.
Broncos Add Andre Caldwell
The Broncos added another target for Peyton Manning as they signed free agent receiver Andre Caldwell.
The fifth-year player spent the last four seasons with the Bengals, where he caught 124 passes for 1,172 yards and six touchdowns. Last year, he had 37 catches for 317 yards and three scores.
Green-Ellis Leaves Patriots For Bengals
BenJarvus Green-Ellis has reached an agreement with the Bengals on a three-year contract, according to a source.
He is expected to replace Cedric Benson as Cincinnati's starter at running back. Benson is a free agent.
Green-Ellis, 26, has not turned the ball over in a span of four NFL seasons, which covers 53 games played and 510 rushing attempts.
Bengals Re-Sign Reggie Nelson
The Bengals will retain defensive back Reggie Nelson.
There's no immediate word on the terms of the contract.
Nelson drew interest from a number of teams.
Browns Sign Frostee Rucker
The Browns have officially signed free agent defensive end Frostee Rucker, swiping him from the rival Bengals.
Rucker agreed to terms on a five-year, $21M contract Wednesday and signed his deal Thursday after passing a physical. The Cincinnati Enquirer reported the deal includes $8M guaranteed.
Bengals Enter Free Agency With Nearly $50M To Spend
With the salary cap determined for the new league year, we now know exactly how much each team will be able to spend when free agency begins on Tuesday afternoon.
The Bengals have the most cap space with $49.9 million to spend. There's no per-team minimum spending requirement until 2013, so Cincinnati doesn't have to spend a certain amount of their available allotment.
Other teams with $40 million or more in cap space include the Broncos ($44.7 million), the Buccaneers ($42.7 million) and the Jaguars ($40.6 million).
Cincinnati Tags Kicker Nugent
The Bengals have designated their kicker as their franchise player.
Mike Nugent can negotiate with another team, but if he agree to terms with someone else, Cincinnati could retain him by matching the offer.
Jerome Simpson Pleads Guilty To Drug Charge
Bengals receiver Jerome Simpson has pleaded guilty to a drug charge as part of an agreement with prosecutors that could send him to jail.
Simpson was indicted for trafficking in marijuana after a shipment from California was tracked to his home in northern Kentucky. He pleaded guilty in Kenton County Circuit Court on Thursday to a felony count of a prohibited act relating to a controlled substance.
