Ryan Grant is working out for the Chicago Bears on Tuesday.
Matt Forte is likely out for at least one more week.
Michael Bush started for the Bears in Week 3.
The Chicago Bears were far from superb offensively, but their 23-6 victory over the St. Louis Rams still marked an improvement from their previous Thursday night debacle at the Packers.
The Bears had a +10.2 advantage in The Trench Counter, averaging just 4.1 yards per play but was still significantly better than the 2.8 posted by the Rams. Chicago had a +16 edge in Total Rushes/Completions.
Jay Cutler went 17-for-31 for 183 yards and an interception. Cuter was sacked twice for a loss of 12 yards.
Michael Bush carried 18 times for 55 yards and a touchdown as Matt Forte sat with an ankle injury. Kahlil Bell carried 10 times for 20 yards.
Chicago had a defensive touchdown to put the game out of reach when Tim Jennings tipped a Sam Bradford pass to Major Wright, which he returned 45 yards.
Robbie Gould kicked three field goals for the Bears.
Bradford was 18-for-35 for 152 yards and two interceptions as he led a Rams' offense that only produced 12 first downs.
Steve Jackson carried 11 times for 29 yards, averaging just 2.6 per carry.
Matt Forte will not play in the Chicago Bears' Week 3 game on Sunday against the Rams.
Michael Bush will start for the Bears at running back.
"Michael's excited about playing too," Smith said. "When you're the backup running back, you want to get reps, and I can't think of a running back that's ever had too many carries."
Matt Forte hasn't been ruled out of the Chicago Bears' Week 3 game against the Rams.
Lovie Smith said Forte suffered an ankle sprain, not a high sprain as previously reported.
"As far as when he'll be back, I don't know," Smith said. "He looked a lot better today. I was hoping he would look about the way he did today."
Forte didn't participate in Monday's session, but trotted off the field without any noticeable discomfort.
"He looked pretty good today," he said. "We're not ruling him out of anything just yet. He has a long way to go. I don't want you to start thinking he'll be out there practicing tomorrow; he's not. But we're making progress."
The Chicago Bears re-signed Kahlil Bell on Saturday to add depth at running back with Matt Forte nursing a sprained ankle.
''I'm taking my talents back to Chicago. So happy to be back,'' Bell tweeted Saturday. "Never wanted to leave."
Bell played with the Bears the past four seasons, including three starts in 2011.
Steve Slaton will workout for the Chicago Bears on Saturday following an injury to Matt Forte.
Forte suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Bears' Week 2 loss at the Packers.
Michael Bush is expected to start at running back in Week 3 if Forte is unavailable.
The Bears could also re-sign Kahlil Bell who was released before the start of the season.
Matt Forte suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Chicago Bears' 23-10 to the Packers in Week 2.
Forte has no timetable for his return, as it will depend on his pain tolerance.
Michael Bush will receive the bulk of the carries while Forte is limited or out.
Jay Cutler threw four interceptions in the Chicago Bears' 23-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers, including one to Charles Woodson.
"It's the same old Jay," said Woodson. "We just need to be in position. Jay will throw us the ball."
Cutler kicked at Woodson in the backfield in a play following the interception.
In a sloppy game throughout, Clay Matthews and the Green Bay Packers overwhelmed Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears on their way to a 23-10 win at Lambeau Field.
Matthews had 3.5 sacks and four hits on Cutler, who threw four interceptions in addition to being sacked seven times.
The Packers had a +17.1 advantage in The Trench Counter, averaging more than twice as many yards per pass, eight more first downs and a +2 in turnover differential. Green Bay also had a +17 advantage in total completions/receptions.
Aaron Rodgers, however, was far from his frequently perfect 2011 self. Rodgers went 22-for-32 for 219 yards, one touchdown to Donald Driver and an interception when James Jones took a bad route. The Bears also sacked Rodgers five times.
The Packers scored their first touchdown of the game on a fake field goal when placeholder Tim Masthay found Tom Crabtree on a shovel pass.
Beyond the return of Matthews to his 2010 form, the biggest development for the Packers was the emergence of Cedric Benson. After being stifled in Week 1 against the 49ers, Benson ran the ball 20 times for 81 yards.
Matt Forte rushed seven times for 31 yards and caught four balls for 49 yards before exiting with a leg injury.
Cutler struggled and was often visibly frustrated, though a brilliant pass to the corner of the end zone that was dropped by Brandon Marshall was one he seemed to shake off.
