Browns Trade Punter Andy Lee To Panthers

Aug 29, 2016 5:03 PM

The Cleveland Browns have traded Andy Lee and a 2017 seventh-round draft pick to the Carolina Panthers for Kasey Redfern and a fourth-round pick in 2018.

The trade comes a few days after Hue Jackson got into Lee's face after the punter allowed a touchdown in a preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jackson wasn't pleased with Lee's effort in trying to stop Tampa Bay returner Adam Humphries from scoring.

Kelvin Benjamin Comfortable Without Knee Brace

Aug 19, 2016 10:58 AM

Kelvin Benjamin has no plans to wear a brace to protect the ACL he tore in his left knee last summer.

Benjamin is uncomfortable wearing the brace and the Carolina Panthers are backing his decision.

"If you put something on him and it prohibits him from being who he is, you don't gain anything," Ron Rivera said. "I would like to see him wear it, but he says he feels good and the doctors say he's doing well. So we'll just keep our fingers crossed."

Cam Newton Doesn't Believe Criticism Of Him Is Racist

Aug 15, 2016 12:04 PM

Cam Newton told GQ during a wide-ranging interview that he doesn't think he is subjected to extra scrutiny because he is black.

"It's not racism," Newton told the magazine. "Everybody's entitled to their own opinion."

Newton has been critiqued for his playing style and demeanor throughout his career.

"I don't want this to be about race, because it's not. It's not," the Carolina Panthers quarterback said. "Like, we're beyond that. As a nation."

Leading up to Super Bowl 50, Newton, the 2015 NFL MVP, created headlines when he described himself as "an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they haven't seen nothing they can compare me to."
