Cam Newton Launches Production Company

Jun 30, 2016 8:32 AM

Cam Newton has launched Iconic Saga Productions, in partnership with Magical Elves, the producers behind "All in With Cam Newton."

Newton will now be able to expand his presence in the entertainment world. He was already an executive producer for Nickelodeon's "All In With Cam Newton."

The Carolina Panthers quarterback will be helped by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz of Magical Elves, who will create and develop unscripted projects.

"As soon as we started working on 'All In,' I knew that Dan and Jane would be the perfect partners," Newton said in a statement.

"I'm excited to continue building on what we've already started, creating new, fun, authentic content for the world to see."

Thomas Davis: Cam Newton Has 'Matured' Since Super Bowl Interview

Jun 22, 2016 7:24 PM

Cam Newton was criticized by many for his handling of a post-Super Bowl interview, in which he seemed to sulk and walk off early, but teammate Thomas Davis says the quarterback has learned from the experience.

"Cam understands and he knows that, in that situation, being who he is, being the role model that he is, he has to handle that situation better," Davis told SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday. "And he's learned from that, I feel like. Hopefully, we're never in that position again where we're losing the Super Bowl, but I definitely feel like Cam has matured since that point and he's definitely going to be much better at handling different adverse situations like that."

Another Carolina Panthers teammate, Greg Olsen, told Mad Dog Sports Radio that Newton has never been a distraction for the team.

"Some people may not like it," Olsen said. "It might not be traditional or what they expected but Cam's true to himself and at the end of the day the only thing that matters is how do the guys in the locker room respond to him -- how the guys in the locker room respect him and rally around him -- and that's never been an issue since the day he got here as a rookie in 2011."

Charles Tillman Only Wants To Play For Panthers

Jun 21, 2016 8:25 AM

Charles Tillman only wants to play for the Carolina Panthers if he returns for a 14th NFL season.

Tillman continues his rehab from surgery five months ago to repair his torn ACL.

"I just want to play for Carolina," he said.

Tillman tore his ACL in Week 17 last season, forcing him to miss Carolina's run to the Super Bowl. On Saturday, he said he's "probably another two months" away from being able to contribute, and if he signs with a team it likely would be near the end of training camp.

Cam Newton Will No Longer Celebrate TDs With Dab

Jun 9, 2016 11:52 AM

Cam Newton will no longer dab to celebrate touchdowns.

Newton first used the dab in November at Tennessee, which drew national attention after a letter to the editor was published from a mother who found the dance offensive to her 9-year-old daughter.

"I have to put that aside,'' the NFL MVP said Thursday during an interview on WFZN-AM radio's "The Mac Attack'' show from Charlotte.

She wrote: "The chest puffs. The pelvic thrusts. The arrogant struts and the 'in your face' taunting of both the Titans' players and fans. We saw it all.

"I refuse to believe you don't realize you are a role model. You are paid millions of dollars every week to play hard and be a leader. In the off season you're expected to make appearances, support charities, and inspire young kids to pursue your sport and all sports.''

Newton defended his right to dance, saying it takes him to his "happy place.'' He continued to dab the rest of the season.

"Everybody is entitled to their own opinion,'' Newton said of the mother's comments. "You can't fault her for that. It is what it is. If she feels offended I'll apologize to her, but at the end of the day I am who I am.''
