The Carolina Panthers have hired Ernie Accorsi to consult with owner Jerry Richardson on their search for a new general manager.

The Panthers fired Marty Hurney last month.

Accorsi has a long relationship with Richardson.

The Carolina Panthers recorded their second win of the season, beating the Washington Redskins by a final score of 21-13.
